I recieved an email from Blizzard:
Hello zhang,

Welcome to Battle.net!

You have successfully created the following Battle.net account:

(my email)

The Battle.net account is a centralized account system that will let you manage all of the Blizzard Entertainment games you play, including World of Warcraft and future games, in one place without having to remember multiple sets of login information.

We highly recommend that you take this opportunity to verify your e-mail address. Verifying your e-mail address will unlock extra Battle.net account features, including the ability to register Blizzard games you own so that you can download them, free of charge, any time you want. To do so, simply click here:

In addition, you may also merge any World of Warcraft accounts you play with this Battle.net account. After merging, you will log in to the game and its associated online services such as World of Warcraft Account Management, the World of Warcraft Forums, and the World of Warcraft Armory, using your Battle.net login information. You can begin the account merge process at the Battle.net account homepage, located at http://www.battle.net/account.

Please retain this e-mail for your reference.

Sincerely,
The Battle.net Account Team
I'm not sure if this is legit or the spammers got better, but in case it is legit, does anyone know how I'd go about getting this account closed?

Click the headers to see if it's legit. Don't click the links until you verify. I'm betting it's fake though.

If you hover over the link in your email app/web interface, where does it point?

Best way to get the account closed is to contact Blizzard Support and let them know that you did not authorize an account to be opened for you.

Also, change your email password ASAP - just in case [Run a full virus & malware scan first - I also suggest being a little paranoid looking at changing passwords for sensitive sites that contain personal information]
Well, it says mailed by battle.net and the address is noreply@battle.net.
It looks fake. Did you recently create a Battle.net account?

Googling the text from the email shows loads of people have recieved this one with the Zhang name as well. Every post I read seem to suggest your email might be comprimised. check your system is secure too. I hate these damm things.
Okay, better run a virus scan then

*snipped away 'cos of false presumption*

For example, the legit mail Bioware sent concerning the theft of NVN accounts and stuff looked very fake at first glance...

Edit. According to Cassidy it seems to be fake, though...

Mail Blizzard at their tech support site/page/link and tell them to close any accounts made recently opened with your email address.
I get these on a daily basis but they show up in my hotmail's spam folder. Here is a link that would help you figure out if it's fake. I doubt they made an account with your email. I think they just got your email to scam you.

What should I do if I receive a phishing email?

If you believe you've received a phishing email, please forward the email to hacks@blizzard.com at your earliest convenience. When forwarding the email, copy and paste the entire email header into the message body to ensure that we are able to identify the source. This information will help us prevent future phishing emails of the same type.

Even if it is legit, I have no way of contacting Blizzard because I need an account to be able to contact their support.
