alexw11: Hey guys,
My back-up hard drive died the other day, so I thought I would go about re-downloading my GOG.com installers (for Windows). I just noticed that several games I own here which previously had newer 2.0 installers are now only showing the original installers available for download.

Arcanum
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate II
Deus Ex
Fallout
Fallout 2
Icewind Dale
Lands of Lore 1+2
Might and Magic 6 pack
Planescape Torment

All of these games had 2.0 installers that are no longer listed, and some had extra fixes (at least I know BG1's 2.0 installer fixed problems with direct draw).

Does anybody know why the 2.0 versions have been pulled and when we can expect to see them back again, if at all?

Thanks,
Alex
Hi,

Thanks for reporting that :D. All of the games that you listed should have their 2.0 installers back on-line.

HK_47: Good thing I saw this thread before downloading the "updated" versions. You can also add Legacy of Kain: Defiance to the List.
LoK: Defiance doesn't appear to have been affected. I'll double check to make sure.

edit: I just double-checked and Defiance is showing and downloading a 2.0 installer.

HK_47: Double checked on my side and looks like I had a 1.0 installer on my hard drive, so this one was a real update. Oops.

Thanks for checking!
No problem :D

alexw11: I checked again and a few of my games still don't have their 2.0 installers back online:

Ultima Underworld
Ultima 7 Complete
Empire Earth

I believe their was a 1.x .x patch available for Divine Divinity, but its not showing up either.

This doesn't apply to me, but Gothic and Gothic 2 are no longer showing a German version available for download.

(I'm trying to remember here, so please forgive me if some these points is wrong. I'm pretty sure EE got a 2.0 update :))

I sent a support ticket with this info in FYI
Empire Earth Gold Edition doesn't have a 2.0 installer at this time. The other two do and have been fixed along with Gothic 2 and Gothic 1.

alexw11: Well, everything was fine this morning, but checking this afternoon has revealed that even more games are missing 2.0 installers including some that had been fixed yesterday:

Alone in the Dark 1+2+3
Anachonox
Arcanum
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate 2
Beneath A Steel Sky
Broken Sword: DC + Original
Deus Ex
Dungeon Keeper 1
Dungeon Keeper 2
Fallout
Fallout 2
Freespace 2
Icewind Dale 2
Icewind Dale
lands of lore 1 + 2
MDK
Might and Magic: 6 pack
Might and Magic 7
Might and Magic 8
Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition
NOX
Planescape Torment
Alpha Centauri
Thief II
Theif Gold
Ultima 7
Ultima 9
Witcher 2 (3.4.0 version is gone -> back to 3.0.1)
Witcher: EE

These games are missing an installer entirely:
Blade of Darkness
System Shock 2

I guess I'll wait on downloading anything until this is sorted out.

DyNaer: i'm calm :D

but more seriously

Is it possible you do something to prevent people to download older installer when this happends, wasting bandwith for both parties ? Because either files are corrupted, either games have mixed files from different versions :/

not everybody have super fast bandwith ; this is a serious concern ...
The only problem I see with preventing people from doing something is that it could be misinterpreted as something not working. Of course, that's just my view of it.
