Download it off of Steam and you'll solve this problem once and for all (Alright I know it's indefinite considering theoretically the Steam servers will go down one day). But just saying, you won't have to look for it like you've been trying to do.

Just buy it again. It's only $10.

I kind of disappointed at the large number of people actually advising piracy =(. Moral or not, it's still illegal in most of the world. And the relevant authorities won't give a crap as to whether you actually own a license to play the game or not.

I don't lik piracy if the game was never paid for, however this is different, as I already paid my $30 for the game (price when I bought it)
i would feel no moral problems and 'nor should you. if you paid for it then there should not be a problemo.
In fact im not even sure why you had a moral problem in the first place : )

Well, the OP specifically asked the morality/ethics of his/her actions, right? Most commenters then answered accordingly.

Legally there is an issue because you're only allowed to make a backup of the copy you purchased (even though that copy won't work if it's protected by a disc check).
But morally there's no issue I can see as long as you only download the same version you paid for.

Nah, turn off sharing and you're fine - like disabling that port-forwarding on the router, or finding the option in the torrent client (if it exists).
Or just download away, stopping it as soon as you're finished - you probably only uploaded a tenth of the total size by then.

As I mentioned in the free software list, you can cut upload speed to next to nothing. That will ensure that they only get a few MB by the time you've got your GBs downloaded.

Morally, I think you'd be alright.
If it was me though, I'd re-buy a copy on eBay for cheap or search a bit harder.

Seriously guys, the game is $10 on d2d or steam, if that is breaking your back too much, then what are you even doing at GOG?

See, that's where this whole licensing thing comes unstuck. If i'm not actually buying the game, just a license to play it, it shouldn't actually matter if i download it from 100 different places... i still have a legal license to use it.
However uploading it, or giving it to a friend while keeping a copy myself... that's a different matter.
But, i'd image the license is phrased in such a way as to void that option? I wouldn't know, i've never read an EULA in my life...

Yeah, I kind of agree. Torrenting isn't a "moral" solution, due to the file sharing aspect. I'd probably do it anyway, but OTOH, I'd feel pretty much obliged to buy it if it showed up on GOG. :-)

You bought it before? Download away, just don't share. I see no reason not to.
