Forgive me if it was beaten to death, forum search did not yield any interesting results and I do not lurk here regularly.

I think Amazon shows reviews like that - the most helpful good review AND the most helpful bad review, side by side. It would be great if such a solution was implemented here as well. As it stands, reviews get often swamped by 5/5 bad cases of nostalgia glasses. Of course, it is inevitable on a site dedicated to old games - but all the better reason it should be averted.

Of course, GOG management might prefer to have good reviews on all (well, most) their games, as it might make people buy even the mediocre ones. Then again, after people get burned, they will distrust even - or especially - the good reviews, so it is a double-edged sword. I also understand that the question of review reliability is long, broad and old one. Still, I do find the Amazon system superior. I wonder, am I alone in those sentiments?

I approve of this. It would also be nice to be able to sort reviews by scores: at the moment, the only options are "most helpful first" and "most recent first".
If they had a meta critic type average rating it would help.

Frankly i ignore reviews, especially magazines. Bored of average shooters getting 90%+, on gog i tend to only buy games i loved at the time, and the ones im unsure of , ihave gifted to people and asked them to tell me what they thought

The problem with reviews is that everyone has an opinion of what is fun and what is not. There's no point in reading a gushing opinion or a scalding one from a guy who's tastes are completely different from yours. Unless the reviewer mentions games he likes and they happen to be games you liked and then mention features you think are fun, then maybe you can take the chance.

Having best/worst review next to each other seems like a good idea, if only because the bad review could be hidden among many other reviews, but what makes it the "best" bad review is the amount of people who agree with it. It's quite a time saver to just read a couple of reviews from both sides of the spectrum. I'm prone to asking questions, watching videos and trying demos before making a purchase, instead of just basing it on reviews.
