Absent friends,

I know that there's a thread somewhere where one can post their suggestions for games they want to see on GOG. I can't find it, so I wish to post a list of games, lost gems and obscure relics, as an offering to the overlords that be.
There would be more games for me to list, but I know that most of them are already being sold at Steam, and it's probably difficult already to a good site like to acquire game franchises like the Star Wars: Dark Forces series, the Thief series, the Star Trek: Elite Force series, or the Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake series. I've narrowed the list down. Some may still be difficult to get, like a few Blizzard games and one LucasArts game, but most of the games may be obscure enough. Some of these games may be on Steam but not all. See what you think.

It's here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/official_beg_thread_this_game_belongs_on_gog

GOG's official wishlist is here: http://www.gog.com/en/wanted

I'm not sure how helpful either one really is (GOG doesn't even really link to the official wishlist anymore - has promised an updated, better one for awhile now), but best of luck getting your most wanted.

Dune 2000? Really? Must we?
Your probably not going to see certain games come to GOG that have publishers with their own distribution/service models (Blizzard, Microsoft, etc.), but my goodness would Heart of Darkness make me a happy camper. For those who don't remember it, maybe this cover art will jog your memory banks....

A good chunk of those you'll probably never see come here D:
Yeah, I understand what you mean, _Bruce_. The story and cutscenes to Dune 2000 suck. And it is annoying that you can't move the game screen with the buttons, nor can you reconfigure the controls. I just wanted for some gameplay aspects I liked, including the music..

@EC- : It's a good thing I picked a gamed that you liked, my fellow earthworm warrior. : )
I understand other companies with their own distribution models may not want to submit their stuff for GOG, but tell me: does that mean that all the games I've mentiioned are available for distribution elsewhere? (Besides STEAM, I mean. Or GameTap. I just don't like the idea of having to connect to the internet constantly, or paying a monthly fee, just to play a classic game.)

Steam doesn't require a constant connection, but it's offline mode is a bit 'special'. And yes some of the games you like are available (Blizzard games are sold direct, for a start).

They don't sell the really old ones though (e.g. Warcraft 1 and 2).
All the more reason why Warcraft 1 and 2, and Diablo 1, should be on GOG.
