I get it. You hate the game. Others have different opinions. Some hold the same opinion (albeit with far more rational, thought out complaints that I don't necessarily disagree with).

For the last time: Dragon Age 2 is not going to hurt your beloved Witcher 2 or vice versa.

That's the thing I find most aggrivating about fanboys is that they feel they have to bash a competing product just so their own game gets the attention they feel it deserves. Call me old fashioned but I used to own multiple consoles and enjoyed Sonic and Mario, Link and Shining Force it's all about the games for me not the smegging brands.

Why can't we all want Dragon Age 2, The Witcher 2 and Skyrim to all be brilliant? The market is certainly big enough to support as many AAA titles as possible. Call me greedy but cant we have all? Do we have to pick a favourite?

I don't get this meme, at all. I'm an interpreter. This is how the job is done. Sure, the original speaker made the segments quite short, so the interpreter could do them from memory, but you never know that in advance; always have your notebook and pen ready is a rule you learn very early in this profession.

It's true he doesn't do contact with the audience very well (and appears to be quite nervous), but the interpreting itself seems fine to me. (Don't know about the content, of course, as I don't speak a word of Japanese.)

Personally, I'm not that excited about the Witcher 2 as there is no chance of me running it on my PC, nor of getting an upgrade before it comes out. I still want it to be good, I want it to succeed, and I think it will because (even though this is a fairly self evident point) as the first one showed there is a market for a it, just as there is for DA 2 and Skyrim.

EDIT: I do also find it strange, both with DA2 and Skyrim, as well as reaching back to Origins, ME, Oblivion etc, that people seem to take such a narrow view on what constitutes an RPG, given how maleable and encompassing a genre it is by its nature.

EDIT 2: On the other hand, perhaps that is best left for another time (what constitutes an RPG etc)

This is exactly how I feel. I own the three current gen consoles and my PC. I enjoy all of them and buy games based on the genre and what I think it's best suited for. I've never truly understood platform wars. I like *all* of the platforms.

I'm excited for the Witcher 2 but it's getting to the point where hearing "BAAAAAAAW TW2 WILL BE WHAT DA2 SHOULD BE" makes me want to punch puppies. If we want to start being obnoxious pricks, I've restarted TW1 multiple times but never beat it, and DAO I played through the OC, expansion and DLCS. Hur hur I guess I should start being a jackass about how OMGDA2WILLBEBETTERLOL.

Sorry. :P In the weeks leading up to DA2 I'm so sick of hearing this fucking argument. I am excited for DA2, TW2 and Skyrim. The obnoxious fanwars just need to get off their soapbox and stop trying to ruin everyone's enjoyment by being Debby Downer all the damn time.

What was good about this thread? All I saw was attachment which the OP (known for plagiarism) claims he "made". Which I wouldn't believe for a second. So if there's another point to this, please let me in on it.

Personally I never understood those comparison. It's no secret that I am for now mostly disapointed by DA2 changes, demo or reviews, but why compare it to Witcher 2 ?

I mean I loved Witcher but it's a totally different type of game/RPG.

The Witchers game are solo action RPGs while DAO was a more tactical party based cRPG and DA2 seems more KOTORIsh, event if they all are "RPGish" game to various extend they have little in common.

It's like saying "HOMM 6 is going to be everything that Starcraft II wasn't" even if both are "strategy" games, one is turn based and the other is real time which make them two totally different type of games.

See, that's exactly it! I know you personally don't care for the DA2 changes but there's no reason for me to give you a hard time for it. Everyone has their own POV and you've never carried yourself in a manner where you outwardly tell those of us excited for DA2 that we're somehow wrong for thinking that (which so many people bitching about the changes act like)

I guess people get it in their head that even though something is an RPG they all need to be compared to one another. Just like when Resident Evil and Silent Hill were kind of competing for survival horror. I never really compared them because to me Resident Evil was always more geared towards jump scares and Silent Hill more psychological scares.

There are many different kinds of games within a genre. If people want to compare let's say, BG and IWD I can live with that since both are tactical RPGs. It's just when people start trying to compare different kinds of RPGs to each other is when I have an issue (like on another forum I go to, this one fellow that loves JRPGs slates BioWare at every chance he gets and I usually tell him to fuck off because JRPGs and WRPGs just should never be compared as they're two very different kinds of games).

I guess my sarcasm wasn't clear enough. I meant the self-indulgence of the OP, not our own viewing pleasure. My point about forum threads is that they are all essentially a self-indulgence to begin with.

I know full well who Roman5 is; I don't think a frequent user of the forums could be in any doubt this week.
