Hey guys,

I've had an image in my head of a certain RTS I played back in the day, but I can't remember anything but this image.

From what I remember, it was a 2D RTS with Isometric view, might be a post apocalyptic game but the units were dressed as if it were a fantasy game (one of the units is an archer). The game had resource gathering and from the image in my mind, the resources (or at least one of the resources) were food and in this case pumpkins. Units also had a certain hunger bar in the form of a pie chart above the unit and they can eat the food at the resource patch, making it a bit of a challenge to gather food to train new units while keeping your already trained units alive.

I've checked the internet, seen forum posts here and there but none of them were correct. I must've played this game around the years 1990 - 2000, can't pinpoint the year unfortunately.

I can't remember much else, but the hunger meter might be a unique feature to that game since I have not really seen it in other RTS games.

Thanks in advance!

No, unfortunately. I've checked there before and haven't seen it. They even seem to be missing some titles you could find on moby games.

I even checked the wikipedia page : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronology_of_real-time_strategy_games

Though some of the games in the wiki page don't have screenshots. I couldn't find a decent screenshot of Rising Lands which sounds close to the game I was looking for.

Thanks though!

Sounds a bit like The Horde the crops in the games are pumpkins and at least look like them? Had archers and knights etc to help defend your village..

Was very young when I played it but It was one of the first "tower defence" games ever made, was pretty good for its time. Believe its also abandonware now.

heres a clip I of the saturn version which is more or less the same

This site has a closer screenshot then moby games

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/3364/reviews/rising-lands-review/

Just click the picture and then change to the next one for a look of the game.

It certainly sounds like the game your after though.

If you look at the moby games cover art for the game

http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/rising-lands/cover-art It has pictures of pumpkins all over it.

Interesting game, but not it. Never seen this one, might give it a go if I find it, unless it's only on Sega Satrun. Thanks for helping out!

Excellent screenshot here, I thought I checked this site... most sites I checked had only small pictures.

Regardless, this game might be it! (or at least a predecessor) Just based off the cogs in the picture, I think this is an earlier game of the one I'm thinking about. The game I was thinking about did have cogs that you can harvest, but the graphics seemed better. The dead archer model also fits the archer I'm thinking about.

Big thanks man! I'm going to look for the sequel before I consider this thread solved tho :p

Need help finding out if there ever was a sequel, or maybe another game using the same mechanics, using cogs and pumpkins as harvesting material?

Anyone know if this site is legit? : http://www.gameswin.info/gameen.php?id=1525

They have it for download, but I'm hoping it's not a virus. Their forums are full of spam of ads and stuff. =/

I'm searching through their RPG section, and they have Fallout available. I'm not going to even try to download it...for one, I have the GOG version, and for two, its not abandonware.

The forum alone scares me, seems abandoned, I'm not going to bother downloading it from there.

I wish there were more vids or higher res screenshots regarding Rising Lands, I'm sure there's another version of this game out there, I remember better graphics than this, but this game does have what I'm looking for...

I guess I should wait until it is abandonware? The dev team for that game still exists though.

I'm keeping this unsolved for a bit longer, Ralack solved it based on the screenshot, I can't find anything else that could be a sequel or maybe a new version of rising Lands.

Nvm, solved. I don't think I'll be able to find it unless someone puts up an ISO. I seriously doubt I'll see it here or anywhere else to be sold before I'm dead. =/

Thanks a lot to everyone who posted and thanks for the find Ralackk!
