I have a .wav sound file that is 2 seconds in length, 359 kb in size. It's been set as the shut down sound on the new PC ever since I got it and is part of the custom theme that came installed on the PC.
The problem is that it doesn't play in its entirety. Windows has recently been cutting it off at random intervals during the shut down process. I have a rough understanding of why it does this (Windows forces shutdown no matter what), but would like to know if anyone has verified way to stop it from doing it (that is, to delay the forced shutdown until after the sound has played).
Looking at Google all I see is people with problems of the sound not playing at all, or Windows not playing a sound that is 2 minutes in length.
I know it's a problem specific to the new PC too, as it happens on my old PC as well with a different sound file that is 1 second in length.
Any help would be appreciated as this is now starting to annoy me.
