Has anyone played the Nehrim total conversion mod for Oblivion? Would it be worth reinstalling oblivion on my laptop? I can run it at medium high settings, or should I just wait until this summer when I get a new gaming computer?
I have it installed on my desktop still, from the 5 to 10 hrs i've played it it was good, the native language is german, but all in all it is a good TC.
It all depends on your tastes, I suppose. I have a personal philosophy of only playing games if I can run them on max settings, or turning off things that I didn't even notice were there. So, in your place, I would wait (in fact, I can run Oblivion almost maxed, but still put it in my waiting list).

My huge backlog helps a lot with that. I have so many games than I can max out that I don't mind waiting for those I can't. I also suppose Nehrim should be a little heavier than vanilla Oblivion, can anyone confirm that?

Of course, in the end, it's your preference.
Does it have an english setting, or english subtitles?

I just found out that there is a fix to make deadly reflexes work with Nehrim. I don't know if I can wait until summer lol.

Nehrim is a bit heavier on system resources than vanilla Oblivion (due to higher resolution textures, and some areas being pretty heavy on various effects). However, if you can run Oblivion on medium-high settings without any problem then Nehrim should work alright, and if it doesn't then you can always just put it aside until you have a more powerful system.

As for the game itself, it's basically a AAA title in its own right, and a very good one at that. The voice acting is all in German, but there's a version with English subtitles available. Also be aware that the first dungeon of the game plays along the lines of survival-horror, which you may find awesome or off-putting depending on your preferences, but after the first dungeon and a little bit following it the game opens up and plays like a standard open-world RPG, and feels like a cross between TES and Gothic.

My recommendation- I spent probably 80 hours playing Nehrim and highly recommend it. Definitely give it a shot.
I think I'm just going to wait until this summer. Thanks for the help though.
