Thundercats:

it was cool and all when I was a kid, but going back now I'm completely slack jawed at how awesome the series is. yeah there are parts where the plot is more filler than functional ,but it's still an amazingly deep series even by today's standards.

I may be living in a past, but I generally still appreciate things that I liked as a kid. I can still play games that were released in the early nineties and enjoy them more than the current day "hits".
Talking about nostalgia - I think it may be a good time to put that Skull's Eye Schooner back together :P.

stoicsentry: I'm still surprised at how freakin' cool the original Transformers animated movie is. Used to watch it all the time growing up, it's still amazing.
The 1986 one? It sure is. And it had a really great soundtrack.
As a kid, I never noticed how bad the Finnish dubs were in many of the cartoon series I watched.
Ah, one thing that I really miss and loved it as a kid and still love to watch is Cities of Gold...

Now that I am watching at the moment and can't believe how good it still is :D
Well, i remember The Next Generation was a bit better than it is. Kinda shocking.;)
Airwolf, the A Team and McGyver, are really bad.
That's all i can remember from my childhood revision that i don't like today.

I remember something about problems with the english dubs getting in the way with physical releases. Is the series available on DVD with english dubs at the moment? That'd be awesome.

This is what I've got my eyes on just nao, not sure about the dub:

40 squid is not really much in my eyes to pay for that nostalgic boxset....

Good to know, there was some commotion about the rights i believe. Well, if You get it, please don't refrain Yourself from telling us more about the release. I might just get one myself for birthday if i won't be uber broke after Deus Ex: HR. ;)
Excuse me, but Beavis and Butthead and Black Adder still rule.
Will do man, I've been waiting for this boxset for a long, long time.

I'm getting CE of new DE but think will still be able to buy this.
One of my favourite cartoons I used to watch as a kid was Conan the Adventurer. I recently started watching entire episodes on Youtube again, and, in spite of being a huge fan of Robert Howard's original Conan stories, still found myself enjoying the cartoons a great deal. Its appeal clearly wasn't aimed at loyal fanbase, even with some references and throwbacks to the stories, but still it's a great show that makes men out of kids.

Arteveld: ... McGyver, are really bad.
shame on you!

dexter's lab and animaniacs are still great but most cartoons from my childhood are unwatchable...
captain planet
johnny quest
scooby doo (less the where are you series. not hilarious anymore like i remember but still pretty good)

games... the one i liked didn't age at all. the biggest problem with old game is interface for me. since i already played those games i am used to interface therefore games are as good as they were back then.

i still play transport tycoon
broken sword was everything i expected (played the demo and only first half an hour of second game back when it was brand new)
Half Life 1 didn't lose any of its charm...
and so on

Still need to see the old school turtle cartoon again...
few years ago i heard the intro song first time since nineties and it was such a huge nostalgia bomb

No, no, shame on you, sir!:)
The original series are still great. I never liked the 80's and 90's spinoffs that much.

Well, i loved McGyver, but the scripts were pretty bad.;/
Well.. I still like Indiana Jones, even the fourth. It wasn't bad. Star wars, original. Classic. I watch those now and then. And when talking about games, this is the right place to be. =) Well adventure games hardly have a replay value but broken sword !, that game I have played 4 times. Well then I wasn't a complete tool I mean child.
When i was a child, there were nintendo 8 bit and all the punch-out you can take and double dragon.
Those are still good.
Freddie Krueger slashed many sequels and I played with He-man actionfigures.
So, then all was better. =)
But nowadays I don't think i'm gonna play with hemans.

Edit: Nowadays we all have to deal with new versions of the same things. Forgot the short word that means the same. =)

I watched a lot of the transformer cartoons when I was 4-8 years old. In my memory they were awesome, untill I rewatched it a few years ago. What a pile of dung. At least they seemed good in comparison to the Michael Bay movies (then again, what doesn't?)

Just imagine what the Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh generation will feel like when they are grown up :D
Looney toons cartoons are as funny as ever, but more "serious" cartoons, usually involving robots or action figures do not hold up to standards. I cringe now at some of the stuff I watched as a kid. Except Doraemon. I still piss my pants off laughing at Nobita and whatever that cat pulls out of his pouch pocket.
