GOG just tweeted:

"We're bringing you guys a surprise new publisher tomorrow, creator of a classic strategy series! Who do you think it will be?"

Edit: Odd. I just refreshed before posting, and didn't see another thread. Now it says it was posted 8 minutes ago.
Ah, Mr. GOG... you and your rather peculiar forum software...

Westwood made some good strategy games. Who owns them?

Electronic Arts

Anyway, I'm really, really hoping for Square Enix myself but I'm guessing it will not be them

Thanks. I myself hope it's either MS or 2K.

It can be either of them

MS has Age of Empires and 2K has Civilization

I like the SS option on the facebook poll. :)
I'd take it MS or 2K would have more fanfare and announcement sof announcements than just a tweet. Then again, it wouldn't be much of a surprise if they did that.
Microsoft released the original Fable and an Age of Empires game on Steam recently, so they seem to be a likely choice

Check the other thread on this topic. The general consensus is Team 17 and their Worms franchise...

Doesn't mean I can't hope for something else. :P

:)
Surprise new publisher is probably not one of the big publisher.

I'd say it's Paradox (they said they want to join GOG), but it could also be Stardock (which would be more surising)

IF Stardock, they have only one maybe 2 games that'd fir the GOG philohophy: Gal civ, Coporation machine, gal civ 2 (and MUST include both expansion if included). Is it too much to hope that the new publisher is Lucas Arts with the CD version of Tie Fighter and X-Wing waiting to be sold? Odds are it COULD also be anyone
It's pretty much confirmed to be Team 17. Their Facebook post even made a pun on 'Worms'.

I'll believe it when I see it. ;)

Yea, and it even mentions its one of the best hot seat strategy games. That's actually pretty disappointing to me. Worms is cool and all, but Im just not interested. Team 17 doesn't have any other games I can think of that interest me either.
