Finally, a fighting game on GOG.com! And not just any fighting game, but Guilty Gear X2 Reload, the best version of the very best game of its kind for the PC!

In the age of 3D fighting games Guilty Gear X2 proves that 2D ain't dead yet. Featuring complex fighting mechanics, extremely appealing, colorful visuals, over 20 characters, many gameplay modes, and a lot of moves and combos, this game won't disappoint any fan of the genre.
The characters are by far the most prominent of Guilty Gear's many features. This goes for the entire series and X2 is no exception. An insane surgeon with a huge scalpel and a paper bag on his head. An innocent-looking girl with two wings - an angel for one and the grim reaper for the other. A cute pirate girl that fights using an anchor bigger than she is... If that's not unique, we don't know what is!
Because of its many distinctive qualities, and an over-the-top cast, the Guilty Gear spawned many Internet memes, most notably Bridget. Don't you think she's cute? If you don't know the correct answer yet, though, maybe it would be better if you don't find out.
Bought GGX2R yesterday (a steal at $6) and am madly in love with it. My Logitech Dual Action USB gamepad has been getting a freaking workout!
I drool at the prospect of the first 3 MK games coming to GOG. It shouldn't be that difficult: they've already got a few of Midway's games in their catalog and the old MKs are dirt cheap on the consoles as downloads these days.

reaver894: Ill get a copy for my midyear thing anyway but probly wait for a sale for my own copy.

hyperagathon: I've decided to buy it. It is SF-y, but what the hell, I enjoy it anyway. Works on Linux, too (except for the movies).

Edit:
Now dear GOG, moar fighting games. And by that I mean MK 1-4. Preferably in a $6 bundle :p

amcdermo: Because some of us value gameplay over looks. The same reason why Nintendo games are so popular. Just because something is drawn in a colourful art style doesn't mean it's for children. Google 'Happy Tree Friends' if you dare.

Merchito: Cute :)
Please friend, don't feel offended. It's probably simply a matter of personal cultural universe. I do value gameplay waaaaay before looks, believe me (imagine, I still play the SSI D&D games in 2011, and can still fall in love with a 50 pixels built Laura Bow). Anyway, I've never owned a console and care little for console-ports. That's probably the reason for my incomprehension.
Actually, I shouldn't have said anything about this game in the first place. I had no business commenting about it... Sorry.
Your opinion is no less valid then anyone else's.

Can an opinion be invalid? ;)
Isn't XX Reload more recent than X2? I want XX :)

Ah just checked. Its usually xx #reload, and x2 without reload but ok, I guess this is the XX #reload I was playing. I might get it (is robo-ky playable from start?)

Guilty Gear XX is the Japanese name for Guilty Gear X2. Guilty Gear X2 #Reload is the first revision of Guilty Gear X2. It's a bit like comparing Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

The differences between X2 and X2 #Reload are very minor. Some balance tweaks and Robo-Ky. Specifically, Robo-Ky was an unlockable character in the original X2, and was exactly the same as Ky Kiske. In other words, a "palette swap" or a "costume". In #Reload, you start with Robo-Ky, and he's a unique character. A very unique character, he even has his own tension gauge.

In other words, the only differences are some subtle improvements and what is for all intents and purposes a new character. It looks identical, sounds identical, and has the same stories and gameplay modes. You'd only want X2 if you're hardcore and don't like those changes.
I did NOT see this coming at all. Well played, GOG.

But it still highlights the irritating lack of Accent Core (Plus) on the PC. Guess I'll have to turn to my Wii for that. (And let's not get started on how BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger gets a proper PC release AFTER the consoles have had Continuum Shift for a year...)

Also, is there any chance that that online multiplayer patch/mod made for the Japanese version will work with this release? I have my doubts, but you never know.
This game is good. So I bought it.

lackoo1111: Not my type of game . I was expecting something else for today .
Just curious as to why you felt the need to post that.
