The portals connecting the shattered islands of Eo start to collapse. The whole world is in panic and despair.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/spellforce_2_dragon_storm]Spellforce 2: Dragon Storm is a refreshing “RPG meets Fantasy Strategy” combo, in which the RPG elements just enrich the awesome RTS experience. The GOG.com version of Dragon Storm is a stand-alone expansion to the second part of the game.

Chaos reigns over the mythical land of Eo and the Shaikans investigate the problem. Upon closer inspection they reveal ancient ruins of the long forgotten first race to walk the plains of Eo: the Shapers. Once the rulers of the world, the Shapers discovered the Essence of Magic, and the struggle to control the essence led to a civil war and the apparent extinction of their race. Shaikans awaken one of these ancients, the Creator, and now chaos spreads. The only ally the Shaikans can muster is the race that once saved Eo from the Shapers threat the Dragons, exiled long ago. This add-on expands the universe by adding the Sheikan faction, and also adds a new campaign, more loot, spells, and a complex crafting system. Revisit familiar grounds, meet friends from your past adventures in Eo (incl. The Soulbearer or Flink McWinter), and (of course) save the entire world from doom.
Nice, but I already have the Spellforce 2: Gold Edition (this + SP2: Shadow Wars) on Steam :-) Cool game though, and nice to see it added to the catalog!

And just so it's been said in this thread -- the Gold Edition on Steam is 19,99€ so buying the two titles separately here on GOG.com is NOT more expensive than getting the GE on Steam. GOG.com is just giving us the option to buy them separately, which is actually a good thing as some people might already own one or the other. Also, GOG.com's version includes extra's and is DRM free.

Sorry GOG, but I'm going to have to pass on Spellforce 2 and its expansions.

Still haven't played the first one yet.

Maybe I'll pick it up on Gamersgate when it will inevitably go on sale again.

tburger: Not that I complain but so many great oldies wait for their release here and we get a game from 2007...
This. Still, good to see new release, as always!
Bad price.

TParis: Bad price.
Source?

I'll agree with you if you can show me a site that has the Gold Edition for less than $19.99. And then I'll even ignore the fact that GOG.com's version has extra goodies and is DRM free...

keeveek: I gues wait for Thursday release for an EA game :)
I think you'll have to wait longer than until Thursday for other EA releases; the staff said they were taking a month or two break from EA game releases and will continue delivering them late summer.
If you don't like the price the better way to show it its do don't buy the game. Stop reapeting too expensive 30 times in the same forum page....

Oh I see. But there's still another release on Thursday, I hope?
"stand-alone expansion to the second part of the game"
That means you don't need the original to play the expansion, right?

Well, we can't be sure, but hopefully there is...
(And I also keep hoping the rest of the Sierra cityuilders gets released here.)

Yes, that's what stand-alone means.

Unlike most places GOG representatives actually look over the forums. It's better for people to be vocal than to simply not buy it as there could be any number of reasons why people wouldn't buy it. By stating the reasons GOG can at least gauge how popular or unpopular it's decisions are.

ShogunDarius: is gog now gonna release games and (standalone) expansions seperate now?
Pretty sure it's up to the publisher.

Good release.
Already own it in Gold edition on GG, but GOG ... throw a quick 50% off on all Spellforce titles this weekend and everybody is going to be pleased ;)
rpg?

seems more like strategy (okay with rpg elements) but ultima underworld i would call that rpg.thats what they focus on,strategy, these days heroes chronicles, dungeon keeper, alpha centauri.

but hey if its not your cup of tea this week, maybe it's the next. they can't please us all.

Doubtful. There was a big JoWood promo not too long ago.
