Check it out.

Nothing too insane really, compared to PCs, outside of the RAM. I will definitely need to upgrade my 4GB of DDR2 RAM to even play new games next year, since this sucker will have 8GB of DDR3.

I plan to upgrade this Fall anyway, of course, as will most hardcore PC gamers.
The ram increase will certainly help the next gen of consoles. Devs always stated that most of their limitations were due to low levels of ram in the past.

In regards to my PC, it's great that digital distribution and smaller scale projects are around. I plan to stick with my current PC. I just don't have the kind of money to get the latest hardware.
The 8GB of RAM will certainly help, but I'm not interested in the next Xbox until there's confirmed information about this and not just leaks (and what games are planned for it).

So how long until Sony's thing is "leaked"?
RAM being so cheap, they should have gone for 16GB. For consoles, memory limitations have always been what stops them from making properly big maps on too many games. 8GB is already average for PC's these days - my laptop has 16GB for crying out load - and my own PC has had 8GB for 3 years now.
That's a lot of weak cores. Interesting.

PS4 will apparently no longer use the duel shock controller used since the PS1 and instead will have something with touch screen similar to Wii U controller. Also it's said to be officially revealed in weeks, not months.

Heard about that from TotalBiscuit, and I kind of agree with him on it being kind of...strange moving from a successful controller scheme to this one. Not that I'd have anything against the similar Wii U controller scheme but for Sony it just seems like a step backwards.

I agree sometimes being conservative is the best way forward. If I wanted a touch-screen controller I would have bought a Wii-U. I'll probably get the Xbox 720 if has a more "normal" controller as by the looks of it, it'll be the only next-gen console to have one.
It's kinda funny - the Nintendo Wii sold well because of casual gamers but look at the games that did sell: all extremely casual games like sport mini games, fitness stuff, brain games, etc. The Wii had very very very few "proper" games that sold well and if Sony think they should try and cash in on that market, they'll be in for a surprise because the Wii sold well because it was CHEAP. The motion controllers of both the PS3 and Xbox were pretty much a fail as well which isn't any surprise.

Seriously, corporations have no clue if they can simply mimic something and get the same success. People stick with something because it's popular and their friends have it too - bandwagon idiots basically. You can make something identical and it won't sell as well because it's not the same as what all their friends have.
I wonder who will have the next generations red ring of death...

They found out though that Xbox beat Wii in U.S though. Wii probably won the console race world-wide especially in Japan with Monster Hunter 3 being released on it.

4GB is plenty for PC gaming still today, I have never felt a need to upgrade. Having to jump right from 4 to something like 16 (PC always needs like twice the RAM of consoles) is pretty significant.

It's cheap though, so whatever.
Meh, that means I can't keep using my 2006 computer anymore for new games. :-P
Has there been any confirmed release games for it yet?
