Just loaded up Syndicate and the opening video is just sound, black screen. Tested some other games and it ends up they are all doing that... gameplay is fine, video is missing.

I am on a new Gateway laptop, Windows 7 64bit with Intel Integrated Graphics, 4GB of ram and an Intel core i3. Windowed mode works fine, but with Syndicate the gameplay does not scale so it's really small. Thanks for any tips.

I had the same problem, and it worked changing the graphic modes to OpenGL.

First off, have you tried running it as administrator?

To do this right click the game startup file and select run as administrator and see if it works, if it does then you can go into the exe file properties and under compatability there is a check box to enable this permanently.

Oh wait, I just realized it was an all out Dosbox problem and not just Syndicate. Meh, I'll keep the original reply because it makes me look smartypants.

Thanks all, OpenGL didn't work but ddraw did... I'll give the solution to amok for sending me down the right path.
