I don't know what the hell I was smoking the first few months of Greenlight but I must've voted on a thousand titles trying to be a Mr. Nice Guy & just slapping a thumbs up on any piece of Wanna-Be and TrollWare.

Worse yet, alot of my legitimate thumbs-up votes proved themselves an embarassing disaster over this past year-and-a-half sending many PC gamers scrambling desperately back to XBox.

I've still got many pages to go yet but I've been spending hours sobbing and crying about how I was an enabler for slopping up Steam and turning our gaming world into a mockery.

I voted on about a hundred then gave up. Too much crap. Only tend to do it now and then for games i find in groupees greenlight bundles.
I've voted about 10 times, 5 for games that appear to have good quality and lots of content...
and 10 votes just to get free steam game cause of the desura game bundle :/.

The ones that appear good to me are:
Matador comming soon! YAY
Saturday Morning RPG ... now at steam! yay
Ultionus: A Tale of Petty Revenge ... now at steam! yay
Heroes of a Broken Land .. please :D
Dark Blood
Roaming Fortress . . . still not greenlight wtf :/

edit: forgot this one
hMage's Initiation: Reign of the Elements also comming soon

i was glad that richard & alice got greenlit, and that depression quest got greenlit, but i agree that there is also a lot of crap on greenlight.
You know what they say :P

"One man's trash is another man's treasure!"

I find it interesting. I vote for games I might like but just because I see a game as being something I don't like (or understand) doesn't mean someone else won't love it.

Like movies, or art or whatever.
what is this thread about?

amok: what is this thread about?
I think he was saying he is now unvoting games he had voted for on greenlight because he believes there are too many crap games on Greenlight and he feels partly responsible for helping them get on steam by voting for them.

I think :P

That's exactly what i think about it. Just because i don't enjoy a particular style of game doesn't mean i want to deny other people from having the chance to buy them.

What's so wrong about Greenlight? Is there any greenlit game that turned out to be a "scam" or something? Quality is subjective, i might add.
I can't vote on Greenlight because of a program I downloaded called "Steam" anytime I click on Greenlight it says "Steam Bootstrapper failed" or something and instantly crasehs Steam to desktop! It's amazing!

And sometimes (all the time) when looking at a community hub and clicking on a picture, it crashes that to! it's the perfect program to make sure the only thing I can do is buy games and play them!
137 votes cause one (my 2nd favorite too) removed itself, 0 regrets. The ones greenlit were popular and successful. Fortunately I didn't vote for crap because of promises of free copies, but on whether I think they will be good to have on Steam. Mobile and Desura titles can keep out. ^^
Funny thing i too revisited some of my votes yesterday and i actually up voted day 1 garry's incident... that's shameful :(

Guess no gameplay was available at the time, i dunno

There are an overwhelming number of games out there that we have no chance of ever hearing about. By playing the numbers game, it's highly likely that a few of them are fantastic games. Greenlight doesn't even come close to penetrating these murky waters and I don't believe that was ever the intention.
Most of the games I vote for are games I supported on Kickstarter.

So just do it through the web. The only thing I do through the Steam app is play games. Everything else (buying games, Greenlight, ...) I do through the web.

I don't vote on any game I have not had a chance to play..or know something about it. We don't want every single game on Steam it lowers your chances of buying a good game because most likely the selection will be dilluted with lower quality games.I find it hard enough purchasing games already.
