I am trying to remember a game I played a number of years ago. It was a horizontal space shooter game with a number of different levels, each with a boss at the end. When you killed the bosses you gained their attack and I think the last boss shot laser.
Can anyone help me?

First of all welcome to forum :)

Lol you just describes 95% of space shooters... Can you specify the platform, year, was there anything unique about the game that stood out? (like different art style, some special abilities).

Yeah, searching for side-scrolling shooters on MobyGames nets 1349 results. We really do need a bit more information to narrow it down a bit.
The Power Copying mechanic seems to be the only thing that stands out, I found it on TV Tropes but nothing I could spot under 'Video Games' sounds like a side scrolling shooter...

Was the game totally impossible? If the answer is yes the game is Gradius.
It reminds me of this FPS game I played. It had guns and enemies to kill and you saw everything from first person. Oh and you could open doors. Any idea which FPS that was?

(yes I'm being cheeky)

Hm, could also be their 1997 hit: "Ammo Up-Picking: Strafe & Reload".

You might be right, however I always thought it was Ammo Up-Picking: Save & Reload??

Is there anything else about the game that you remember? What platform did it run on, roughly what year did you first see it, any memorable areas - that sort of thing.

Yeah, I could confuse it with the sequel to "Cheap-Camping: Fragsniper". They're pretty similar.
When you say space shooter, do you mean something like Mega Man or something like well, Space Shooter? Basically, was your character a person or a space ship? If a space ship, did you fly through the stars or over landscapes?
