Wow, I had never before seen this site. But I don't understand it at all, and was wondering if anyone here is familiar with it. BTW, there are LOTS of games there that gog has as well.

What I mean by not understanding it is this, you don't pay for them. Now I figure that they are "as is" and you probably have to figure out how to get them to run on today's systems on your own, but I still don't understand how they could even do that without charging.

They do have a deal where you can pay $5.95 for a day of unlimited downloads or $8.95 for a month of unlimited downloads (the free downloads are limited to TWO per day).

But with the 2 per day free downloads, I just don't get how this is legal, and was thus scared of even trying it.

[LINK DELETED]This link is to my still favorite American Football game. To me, this beats any and all that have come out since, and while I found my 1993 and 1996 versions, I can't find my 1998 version (the last one they sold, they sold a 1999 version, but recalled it because it was so bad and buggy, still the only time of a game maker having a "recall" that I've ever heard of).

I'm scared to download it without knowing more details, especially whether it's legal or not. Plus I probably wouldn't be able to get it run on my system because I tried yesterday to get my 1996 version to run and of course it wouldn't.

Anyone have any experience with this web site?

I don't think it's a legal site.

Thanks, that's all I needed to know. Had you heard of it?
This is at best a dubious website. Some may claim that it is abandonware (still illegal), but I see straight out pirate games here, for example Beyond Good and Evil.

I call good old fashioned piracy on this one, so deal with it as your moral compass tells you to.

I've been on it and that is all I'm going to say about it. Needless to say I get all my old games from GOG now.
The fact that they're CHARGING for downloads puts it firmly in the morally reprehensible category, never mind the presence of games that clearly aren't abandonware like BG&E, Anachronox, Little Big Adventure and Litil Divil.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too, and I'm not interested in pirating. Again, others, please DO NOT read into that thinking this means I judge others who choose TO download from there or other piracy places harshly because I most certainly do NOT. I hope this thread doesn't turn into a pirating debate. I think there's been enough of them here in the past. I respect everyone's personal moral compass on this because IMO this one is too complicated for anyone to claim to be righteous.

Thanks, so I guess they have been around. I'm surprised I had never run across it before.

THANK YOU very much everyone, I thought it looked shady, but I hadn't looked around enough to see a lot of the games mentioned here. I just saw Lords of the Realm 1 and Lords of the Realm 2 and they looked like they might have been Amiga games so I wasn't even sure they weren't legit. Also, too, I never knew Lords of the Realm came out on Amiga. LOL And then I notice about 8 gog games there.

[LINK DELETED]

This is actually how I found the site. I'm currently playing a game of Lords of The Realm (the first one) and having trouble with my Armies as they are breaking up in mutiny. And I just looked over the entire manual and it didn't mention Army morale or how to deal with it. So I Ixquicked it and found this. So while there, I looked for the 98 version of the football game I couldn't get to run yesterday.

Looks like the site has been up for a while. This is what one guy had to say about it:

Thanks. Did you see the one comment about keyloggers and such from that site?? Man, so now I have to run a scan on my machine. Never even considered that stuff that one commenter mentioned.

Oh well, I'll scan it now then.

Wish I had never posted the link here now.

I think I'll delete it and then do my scan.

I'm glad you posted this. I seldom shop around for different gaming sites since I stick with a few trusted sites, but it's good to be aware of these bad sites. I do have friends who buy from all over the web, thankfully they are few.
WARNING:

My full system scan found one tracking cookie, unfortunately it did not say where it came from (or I don't know how to find out - Norton Security Suite) BUT I had just ran a scan two days ago and cleared any previous threats.

I don't know if it came from that sight, but thought I'd better post my result here.

Dammit, wish I hadn't found the site and posted a link here. My apologies to all. The links are deleted in my posts now, but I couldn't delete one where I had been quoted so beware.

Well, a tracking cookie might be a nuisance, but fortunately it no threat to your system.
I don't think it's legit, but the Pax Imperia 2 copy I got from there was working. Not the latest patch though so probably it's a pirate version.
