coxdr: Ive always been a fan of the White Chamber. It was the first one I ever played. Its been a long time since I have looked it up though. Ill look for the link and post it here when I find it.

Edit Well I found it but it seems the site it was on went down a few years ago. I cant for the life of me finding a working link to it. It was the White Chamber by Fasco

This link shows an image of it http://www.gamekb.com/games/1365457-white-chamber

Fasco's site went down, and I don't believe it can be found anywhere else so im going to go away from the computer and think about how old I am now. (Im really not that old. this just makes me feel old)
Is this the same game?

This one is certainly not a one room game :) But it's nice!
I think this would count, but I'm not entirely sure about what defines a "One Room Adventure Game"? You Find Yourself In a Room

spoderman: I think this giveaway was totally meant for me.. assuming the Zero Escape series counts as "one-room escape" games.

Anyway, my favorite is Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (999) for the Nintendo DS. You're trapped on a sinking ship and you have to figure out how to escape from room after room. It's my favorite game on the DS, and has one of my favorite stories of all time. Can't go wrong with trying it.. if you have a Nintendo DS.

2nd favorite would be Virtue's Last Reward, which is a sequel to 999 (for the 3DS and Vita).

I have no idea if you have a DS though, so I'm not sure if you could try 999? If not, you can exclude my entry ;)

There's actually a web browser based demo on the site.
Wow, that was fun! Sadly, I do not own a DS :-(

AFnord: I'm not quite sure if I understand what a One Room Adventure game is. Is it one where each screen/room/area is a self-contained puzzle, and you need to beat it to move on to the next self contained puzzle? Something along the line of say Not pr0n?
That was kind of cool but a bit over my head at times. I finally had to give in and google some answers and well then it's all downhill from there. But I'd definitely recommend this to some programmer friends ;-D

nope not at all. like I said the site went down and I couldn't find a working link anywhere.
This one's ancient, but I remember having fun with it back in the old days when we still accessed the internet by carrier pigeon: Mystery of Time and Space

Cool text-based adventure and decidedly snarky!

~smiles~ That was the very first escape the room game I ever played! A real classic ;-) And yes, the days of dial-up modems...

Spinorial: So... Saw?
This one? :)
Fits as 'one room escape game'.
Crimson Room is pretty swell. Short and sweet.

Also, I would say that getting a 3DS is worth it just to play 999 and VLR - those games get crazy. If not, I suppose you could always watch a playthrough of the games.

BTW, where can we find your 'gift-list'?

maggotheart: Heres a popular series I'm aware of that you can play for free:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Submachine_%28series%29

and a link to the first game:

Cheers and count me in!
Ooooh, I'd never found these before and am quite hooked! Thanks ;-)

The "gift list" will be presented to the winner for their choice of currently available gifts ;-p

Also, sadly the link to finish the game doesn't work :-( But a very fun escape room game none-the-less ;-)

There isn't exactly a room, per se. But there is just one scene, and you are trying to escape it: gods will be watching.
My favorite is Sagrario's Room Escape. A silent, brightly-lit room, but eerie nonetheless.

Did you try the wayback machine?
