Orcs Must Die! 2 ($14.99)
(Steamworks only, no DRM-free version. Sorry guys)
Orcs Must Die! 2 thrusts players and their friends back into battle against a terrifying mob of orcs and other monsters. With a redesigned spellbook, players will have a broader range of options to build a deadly arsenal of defenses. Investing hard-earned skulls in an enormous new upgrade system will allow players to cater to their favorite methods of burning, grinding, tossing, or dismembering orcs.

"In 2011, we implored players to kill the orcs. As many as possible. Yet, only 3.4 billion orcs have been slaughtered to date. The only way we will get to a respectable orc death toll is by adding another killing machine and cooperative play. Bring a friend and destroy the orcs!"

Orcs Must Die! 2 begins days after the ending of the original game. With the rifts closed and the magical Order dead, the War Mage finds himself suddenly thrust into a new battle against the mindless orc mob. He has a powerful, if questionable, new companion in the Sorceress, an ex-War Mage responsible for the destruction of the Order.

Orcs Must Die! 2 Features:

New Campaign -- Orcs Must Die! 2 features a full campaign that you can play in single-player or with a friend in co-op. Choose to play the campaign as the War Mage, a headstrong hero who charges into danger, or play as the more nuanced Sorceress, a new hero who keeps enemies at bay with mind-control and magic.

More Enemies -- An army of vile new creatures is set to pour through the rifts, and they've brought all of your favorite trap-fodder from the original Orcs Must Die! along with them!

More Defenses -- Orcs Must Die! 2 has an enormous armory of new and classic defenses, including an all new assortment of magical trinkets. Use your new spellbook to buy defenses and upgrades the way you choose to, building up your arsenal based on how you play the game.

New Upgrade System -- The skull system has been completely redesigned. You will always earn skulls for replaying levels, and the skulls can be spent on multiple persistent upgrades for each of your defenses.

EXCELLENT NEWS!!! :D

I thought Robot Entertainment was done with that IP. I'm glad this wasn't announced yesterday.
Where can I place my preorder?
From the official page:
As a special bonus, players who own the original Orcs Must Die! on PC will unlock exclusive content in the sequel.
So got this last night and been playing quite a bit with my brother (Steam says 8 hours thus far). Didn't play the original, but it's included in pretty much in its entirety in the sequel (not sure as to whether you need to own the original for this to be so though).

So far, Nightmare feels unpolished, whereas the second difficulty was effectively a breeze. In fact, the first few hours were so easy that I was genuinely bored playing this game. I will probably end up finishing the game on Nightmare and finishing off some achievements but that will pretty much be it. To be honest, I think that the game's a bit boring.
So I retract what I said earlier - partially.

The game is rough on Nightmare indeed, but it's a ton of fun in co-op. Mind you, some of it is still way too easy, but doubling the number of enemies probably won't help. We've now finished all but one mission in the main campaign on Nightmare. Finished almost all of the achievements.

Still got Classic to do on Nightmare (finished on War Mage, the second difficulty).

Also have a ton of Endless levels to do - only one done to 5 skulls right now (though that was on our first attempt).
It's a bit of a bummer that not all levels are available for the Endless mode. We theorycrafted an awesome meat grinder into a particular level that we really enjoyed, only to find that it's not available.
new DLC pack "Family Ties" coming out today for OMD! 2.

Looks interesting, but it's steamworks only regardless of which store you go with.
I loved the first game but I don't know, I lost interest in the sequel fast. I think it was because I had to resort to a lot of fighting tactics, I enjoyed using traps a lot more. Hopefully both games will arrive here at some point and more games in the series will made though. :)

Yeah, sadly for some on this forum this game will be a no-go despite the game itself because of the Steamworks but that's not really the point here. It's really a great game and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone.
Will get it, as soon the GOTY Edition has been released and is discounted.

It's not just that, around here the internet can be out all day and I've only once managed to get Steam into offline mode successfully.

More than that, for it to be in 3 different shops all with steam DRM is kind of troublesome..

EDIT: Companies wouldn't do that if people would hold firm on it. If it was only on Steam, I might consider it, but with it being in several shops with Steam protection, I'm not going to validate that.

I'm sure you have your reasons, and in the end, it's most important what you think about certain things in deciding whether you should buy a game, but I'm really not interested in this thread about the game devolving into yet another thread about Steam DRM.

Eh, whatever, you kind of started that. I just pointed out that all the copies are Steam copies, which would require people to manually go to all of the stores and look up.

True in a way, my apologies. I'll add it to the topicstart so people know right away that it's a Steamworks title.
