Well, our big sale starts in 18 hours, where virtually the entire catalog will be 50% off and we'll be giving away Empire Earth: Gold Edition for free for 48 hours.

Before we get to that, though, we're going to give away one last round of bonus codes for our holiday celebration. We have 50 codes that are good for any $5.99 game in our catalog, and 50 codes that will work for any $9.99 game in our catalog. Leave a comment in this forum thread with your favorite character from a GOG.com game and tell us whether you'd like a $5.99 code or a $9.99 one.

Tomorrow (12 December) at 11.00 GMT, we'll close the contest--and start our big sale--so you can get your holiday shopping on.

I'll pick Vernon Roche from Witcher 2, as he was a great companion, and I felt as though going through the parts of the game that you do if you choose to side with him, were like a good buddy cop matchup a-la Lethal Weapon, a little miss-matched, but a good combination. A very likeable, handy in a fight, no nonsense character for me.

I'm not really bothered which code I might be lucky enough to receive, but if choosing does matter, I'll say the $9.99 one thank you.

Irrespective of whether I get one or not, and in view of the apparent demise of GSC and the STALKER franchise, I want to say thank you for an exemplary service and product, and for the Witcher franchise, which as I said in another forum this week, is one of my top two favourites along with STALKER. All power to East European developers, and long may you all continue to entertain worldwide.

Just for the sake of all the witty banter, I have to go with the prince from Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. It was great listening to him and Fara snipe at each other constantly.

Of course, the two sequels kinda ruined that. What happened to the nice, wise-cracking prince? Victim of the darker-and-grittier trend, it seems...
