a few days ago I tried buying freespace 2 of of GOG but could not because the banked blocked the transaction, apperantly the country Cyprus is on a list of nations that the bank or Visa won't deal with. I have thought about using a dissposable Visa gift card. Will GOG take these gift cards, and if not anyone have other ideas on how to solve this? and before you ask yes I did check the forums and I didn't find a satisfactory answer.
You'd have to check the terms and conditions on the disposable card. From GOG's perspective, it's just a Visa card like any other and they would accept it, but the bank backing the card may have rules that prevent you from using it for online transactions, international transactions, etc. However, the best way to get around any bank's stupid rules is to use PayPal instead.

It's not Visa, it's your bank. Cyprus has apparently garnered a reputation for being a country where many credit card fraud scams originate, and so some banks by default block all transactions that go through Cyprus.

I seem to have read here about others having the same problem, who spoke to their banks and got them to remove that restriction on their cards (explaining that they knew what they were doing and that GOG was legit). However, not all banks may be willing/able to do this, so your mileage may vary.
