Already purchased BG I, it's a good game, I'm having fun. Now I have money for 1 more game, but I'm in doubt wich one should I pick, Planescape: Torment or Baldur's Gate II? What do you think?

what did you enjoy most in BG?

If story - buy Planescape, it's far better.

If world + fights + everything else - buy BG2.

oh, you can also buy Planescape and try to redeem free code for BG2. There will be at least one from thewishingwell, but I suspect there will be more.

Although I suspect that this tuesday we'll get Age of Wonders. And next we'll get Icewind Dale 1 + expansions. Then Temple of Elemental Evil. And BG2 after that.

Baldur's Gate, to me, feels like sitting down to a game of D&D. Planescape: Torment feels like I'm sitting down to a game of D&D if Stephen King were the Dungeon Master.
Both. ;)

But if you are limited by that pesky thing called money, then it depends on what you want. Baldur's Gate is a very solid, traditional RPG with your standard high fantasy fare (which is by no means bad, as Yahtzee said when reviewing DAO there is nothing wrong with that, and it does it well). Baldur's Gate 2 pretty much takes what Baldur's Gate had and expands on it, noticeably in expanding the interaction with your NPC companions, giving them banter and such so they actually feel like real people, and the quests has that perfect balance between sandbox freedom and strong story. It is epic.

Planescape Torment on the other hand is more dialogue-focused. The story isn't an epic mission to save the world but a more personal one, one that takes you across the planes. PS:T is the game where choosing wrong in a dialogue CAN have consequences. Also, your stats actually influence what you can say, and with the importance of dialogue in the game having high charisma to be able to convince people and a high intelligence to know what you are saying with a high wisdom to know when to say it is often more important than having a high strength to go "Nameless One smash!"

In short, Baldur's Gate 2 is a damn good game of D&D as you have always wanted it to be run, even if you're not a fan of typical D&D stuff it draws you in, while Planescape Torment is a damn good game of White Wolf RPG but using the D&D system instead.
BG = it's more of 'your typical' fantasy AND RPG, about exploration, stats and loot. Like your average game of D'n'D, like nondeplumage noted.

PS: T = there's less emphasis on fighting, and you'll read PLENTY of dialogue. There are very interesting characters, and a unique storyline, that come along with tons of sidequests with many different endings each. Like your average game of D'n'D on crack with Stephen ... Well yeah.

I'd pick PS: T myself, because I love reading books and good stories (yes, when I said there's plenty of dialogue, I meant PLENTY)
The only real answer is both. Especially seeing as you enjoyed the first BG. But also because no RPG fan should be without Planescape.
Thanks pals.
I give great importance to story in games, especially when it's a RPG. I purchased Planescape: Torment. : )
Good news I'll probably be able to buy both, but BG II will have to wait until november, december...

If you can give me some hints before I start, you have my gratitude:

Both. No RPG fan should be without BG2 either. BG2 is alot bigger and better than BG1 is, gameplay, size, depth, levels, storywise.
