Well, it's out as of today, I picked up my copy bundled with the Sports game and the Eyetoy, a Navigator (They are selling out fast, similar to the nunchuck shortage when the Wii came out) and the charging dock. First impressions:
- The Eyetoy setup painlessly. When you jump from game to game, it forces you to calibrate it by moving the controller to your shoulder, your side, then your waist. It doesn't seem like a hassle once you get used to it.
- So far, using the Eyetoy for the sensor seems to be the smartest thing Sony could have done. The accuracy of all the motions are superb, and so far I haven't done anything that could be misconstrued by the game as another motion.
- The Archery game is the biggest example of accuracy, I was able to nock arrows and find the target almost as fast as it takes to mouse look to a target on the PC.
Of course, this is after only 2 hours and with one game, so there is still a lot left to be seen in terms of third party games and support.
Anyone else have one or plan on picking one up?
I have an old 60GB PS3, but have no plans to get the Move at this time. I'm not interested in motion controls, and haven't been since I used a PowerGlove, and even after the Wii was announced. So unless they have some truly excellent titles (real games, not gimmicky titles), I don't plan on getting it.
Please note, I'm not saying that it sucks, only that I myself am not interested. It's good to hear that it's very precise.
I don't know about this whole motion control thing. It seems to be moving towards more and more "realism". I don't know about you, but I play games to relax and have fun. It seems the motion control schemes are headed towards the point where, in a game like Tekken, you have to perform an actual roundhouse kick, in order to make your screen character do the same. Disregarding the number of flat screen TVs that's going to kill, once you get to that point, you may as well stop playing games and just take up a martial art instead. If you have to do the work anyway, you may as well learn to do it properly ;-)
Oh boy, I want me one of these. Mostly for Kung Fu Rider. Yeah sure, motion sensitive gaming probably won't catch on as much as companies like to think they will, but it's gotten my parents interested in console gaming, so they're doing something right.
From all of the new "move" games announced, Kung Fu Live interests me the most... and this doesnt use the Move-Controller, only the camera.
Those various "sports" games dont interest me the slightest. So I wont jump on "Move" any time soon, but I dont object to it. I just dont think it will replace a Dualshock in most games I enjoy, and Im not interested in most of this casual-stuff.
I love the commercials.
No interest in the product though.

That reminds me of this picture...
Thanks for the laughs bro, roundhouse kick to the screens... >_<

I'd be interested in trying it but not quite "spent $200 just on the controllers" level of interest, its a hell of a risk if I don't end up liking it and so far the only move enabled game that I've seen that I have any interest in is Heavy Rain and I can play that quite nicely with my controller

It's been done already, and it wasn't too successful.

I saw a similar system demonstrated for the PS2 in a mall once. Never seen it since, but it seems like all the console manufacturers are headed in that direction again.
I really have no interest in it, seems pointless to buy it right now (I've learnt from buying Sony consoles on Day 1, there's always no games to play on them).
I'm going to sit back and wait and see what comes out for it. That sorceror game looks like its heading in the right direction of being a real game and not just a gimmick for move but the game itself doesn't really appeal to me.
I want to put my joystick in my hands. End of the story :-P
