Having a little trouble with this game and figured i'ld ask around here to see if anyone can help.

I decided to reinstall this game last night and it runs fine, except for some graphical glitches (characters randomly turn transparent, objects and textures are missing or appear half drawn, etc) it's not an overly big deal, but can get a little annoying.

I looked around online and someone seems to have fixed the problem by disabling DirectDraw...but unfortunately you can't do that on Windows 7 (i can't find out how to disable it and looking around online suggests that Windows 7 requires DirectDraw to even display anything). I also messed around with the options (what little there are) and compatability settings...still the same.

Anyone around here know a fix for this?

I'm on Windows 7 as i already mentioned :)

What edition of Windows 7 do you have? If you're on Professional or Ultimate, XP Mode may be able to fix this up. If it doesn't work in the default installation, just turn off integration features.

(think of this as your last resort)
Ultimate.

Shiek2005: Ultimate.
Good, then you have it available for free, right here:

I seriously want to hurt someone whenever I look at my collector's edition of this game...

Check here. I'm on XP myself, so the directdraw trick worked for me, but, there's some fixes in that thread that apparently may have worked for some Vista users. With any luck, they might just work for Win 7 also. Let us know how it goes.

@KavazovAngel: Sorry, i meant Premium. Ultimate is my Desktop and even that can't run the VirtualMachine thingy, processor is not good enough i think -_-

@Nomad_Soul: Thanks, i went through some of the suggestions mentioned there, especially the compatability toolkit, but still the problem persists...

Here's some screenshots.

Notice the occlusion present on some of the characters? furthermore, notice that there's NOTHING where they are standing? like being behind something that obstructs the characters.

Notice the odd texture gltich on the wooden gate? o.O

Hey, I have XP Pro and I have difficulty with the game. I try running it and nothing happens. Any ideas?

There is an update that allows CPUs that don't support virtualization to be able to run XP Mode. You need to have SP1 installed.
Just out of curiosity -- what makes you want to play this game? I remember it being incredibly buggy (including a bug that would erase parts of your Windows installation when you uninstalled the game), and not being particularly well received at all by gamers and critics alike...
@KavazovAngel: For real? i didn't know, could you link me to Win 7 SP1? i might even be able to run NFS High Stakes and Inquisition with Win XP Virtualization ^_^

@Lorfean: I got that game cheap and i never really ran into any problems playing it uninstalling it in the past and besides, i actually kinda liked it. I didn't purposely install it because i was drooling to play it, but me and my friend have been playing BGI lately and i decided to install some of my D&D games again to check them out.

Ok, i just installaed Virtual Machine and XP Mode, i installed the game from within XP mode and it won't even start, when i try launching the game, the splash screen comes up, the screen flashes black a brief second and nothing happens...
