You wouldn't like to see my shelf. It's still on Beta-phase. And it has...uhhh....books....lot's of books....only books.

simon1987: *snip*

I see you have Daikatana. Always been curious about that one. Is it really as bad as people say?
As for my own real shelf space, it's mainly PS2 games. I'd say that over 90% of my PC collection is digital. I'll try to get some decent photos tomorrow if I can find where the wife put the digital camera.
nah, Daikatana is great.
The only reason people raged on it was because of the delays and that infamous advert.
I doubt many people actually played it at all.

I played it and I will go one better than that I had it on the N64 as well. Bloody awful game. The N64 version being especially hideous.
I also have daikatana on pc and on n64. I really like the pc version (I actually can't get enough of most oldshool shooters and to be honest this ones is more the decent). if you command your sidekicks to stay and then go get them, you will probably like it too. Don't give up though when you first start the game because in my opinion episode 1 is the worst one.
But the n64 version is terrible. I once said (and i still plan to try it) that it is possible to finish the game in less time than watching the "cutscenes".
on topic: because i recently moved I haven't organised my shelf like i want it. A lot is till in boxes and others are just piled up in multiple rows. To give you an idea of how much work it will be: i think i have almost 10 times as much games a you do... (i buy at least 1 game almost every 2 weeks and have been doing that for the last 10 years and before that i got them from my parents at steady intervals for another 10 years so my piles keep rising)
I also have a lot of games via digital distribution (more than 100 quick counting in game list). that helps with space but my collectors heart cries a bit everytime i buy something digital but i have to live in the present...

Very nice, simon1987. How I miss the times when games came in huge cardboard boxes that looked so great on a shelf. Generic DVD cases suck.

I agree and i must say I envy some of them.
I agree it's a great collect Simon1987. Mines about the same size but scattered about the three floors of my house. I'm curious though as to what is your oldest game there?
Never kept the flimsy cardboard boxes, always threw my games into a CD book when I got them (assuming they were paper sleeves) or just kept the jewel case. Main reason was space :P
Have all my DVD and double wide DVD cases for all my PC games tho. They take up an entire bookshelf, plus I have 2 full CD books full of games, and an entire rack of jewel cases...plus some CD's lying in a giant stack since I'm too lazy to find the boxes for them :D

In terms of release date probably ultima vi.
But i bought that years ago because I liked ultima underworld so much (had them both in big boxes, lent them out never got them back :() But it was nothing like it! lol
The game you cant make out to the side of final fantasy 7 is the humans, that came out in 92 i think thats probably the second oldest and probably the one ive had the longest
Nice man! I see you have Hidden and Dangerous. I wish I still had the box for that.
Damn, i have my games all over the place. Some of them, sadly, missing their boxes.
I've lost a sh..load of Commodore tapes on my way too, still have some left, alas, in boxes.
Do tapes count?:P

Oh man, that's a shame. I still can't get over the fact that i wasn't into RPGs when U:UW was in stores.;|
[sidenote:]
Vagabond enters the thread, kills...silences all, leaves.

Alas all my game boxes are in storage and not on shelves. If this were a 'show us your bookshelves' thread, then I'd be in business, though. :)
BTW, I like that Kenny plushy that's peeking out of the left corner of the photo.
