Wishbone: Given Microsoft's history of making their own "standards", he does have a point. Although they've gotten a lot better over the last couple of versions.
I agree that they were doing that with previous IE releases, but sorted it out with IE8 (more or less), and with IE9 (almost there). IE10 will be fully HTML5 / CSS3 draft compliant (judging from what one could read on IE's blog). For example, in IE10 they are removing the VML support, and the DX Filters.

Sadly, now Google have started doing their own stuff, though. :/
