Hello, i got several gift keys for GOG recently...and run in trouble with redeeming them.
As always, i loaded https://secure.gog.com/redeem pasted key and...got Key Invalid error. Checked again...still error.
Then i tried one more time and this time GOG said OK, showed game title and so on. I delayed a little, reloaded page and guess that? Invalid again! And on next try valid!
Same story with other key too.
Is GOG have some technical problem or that?

If you got them gifted from someone else ask them and see if it was claimed somehow by someone else

Yes, i know, the problem is that GOG first reject key, then after several tries - validates it and say OK, and after page reload its again reject it and then again says OK.
Looks like key is NOT redeemed, but thre is problem with GOG gifts DB.

I believe it locks the key for a short amount of time before it can be redeemed again.

So for instance if I drop a key here and someone were to enter it at the redeem page and see what it is but choose not to redeem it, the key would be locked for a few minutes. If someone else comes along and tries it shortly after it being locked, they would get the invalid key message. Then a few minutes later, after the lock period, if they try it again, they could redeem it.

Hope that clarifies things a little for you.

When you try a gift or bonus code, the code is locked for a few minutes. Anyone trying that code (even you) during that time will get a "Invalid Code" message. If the code is fully redeemed, it should show a "Code already used" message.
There is of course a small chance that it's a random string of characters you were given, in which case you'll have to ask whoever sent you the code. But first check is to wait 10-15 minutes and try the code again.

^ This was more first thought too. I'd give it some time before trying again.

Not just that it seems after redeem games are not showing up on bookshelf. Using https://secure.gog.com/account/refresh these days just times out for me. Very frustrating.
