Hey all

Port Royale 3 is currently on sale for just under £12 on Gamersgate. Has anyone played this and is it worth the asking price for a lover of Port Royale 2?

Also its DRM, from what I can see it GFWL, Is that correct?

It' not GFWL. The game's a Games For Windows titles, but doesn't use GFWL.

As for the DRM, I've read it's the Kalypso in-house activation. You have to tie the game to an account (I believe it's an e-mail addy) and you sign in with that account whenever you fire up the game.

*edit* I believe it's pretty similar to Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age in regards to the account, if you're familiar with the activation/account-based DRM on those games.

Gamespot said #3 was meandering and boring. I love #2 as it was so open and you could freely play for hours without actually accomplishing anything, hence you didn't have to be good at it, which I'm not. Sounds to me from Gamespot that they tinkered with it too much and made a mess of it. Of course, Gamespot didn't like AOE 1 and I still play that game constantly, bad as it looks.
Thanks to both tinyE and Coelocanth for your input
