Hey guys. I recently bought the official Sony brand HDMI to use with my new TV (And God does it work wonders!). My question is, I also have this particular [url=http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/ps3-gaming-headsets/ear-force-p11.aspx]headset that I use primarily for online play and when I want to feel immersed in the game. Now, when I was setting up the HDMI cables for sound, I noticed nothing was playing through the headset, but only the TV. After fiddling with the AV cables that come with the headset and the multi-audio settings for the PS3, I was able to get it to play through my headset and TV as well. Now, that isn't a big deal, but on some games, the voices for characters ECHO. When I mute the TV, it fixes that problem. Is there any way to fix this besides muting it? Thanks.

For some reason HDMI devices insist upon using the speakers from the TV unless you manually change it. I have the same problem with my laptop when I need to use my microphone.

Unless there's a setting on the PS3, and unfortunately I don't have mine available, your best bet would be removing the cable and using something a little less smart.

Well, the settings for the audio devices has a setting for multi-audio channels I think that I mesed around with and it allowed me to use both the HDMI and I guess AV cables used for my headset. I am unsure if this is the only way or not.
First you just overspent on a HDMI cable you can get them online for 99 cents and they are as good as the sony cables.

The reason for your sound problem is the HDMI and bluray protections for HD media require a HDMI compatible audio link and RCA well isn't. So they lock off the analogue sound when using it.

I dont have access to a card right now and I am well aware I overspent on HDMI cables, but they were the only ones in stock. I guess I'll just play without the headset.
