I was wondering, is it at all possible to edit the controls for Duke Nukem, as with blood? I find the games default control scheme a little hard. I am sorry to ask a stupid question, as there was no apparent way to alter the controls, but I wondered if there is anything that can be done.(When I went to the control section of help, it mentioned some kind of help.exe file and I was wondering if that could be used to change the controls.)
I'd strongly recommend using eDuke instead. Basically buy Duke Nukem 3D here, then use the data files in their engine. And those eDuke does support editing the controls via a configuration file.

Plus you can use get higher resolution and 3D acceleration.

EDIT: They are an affiliate of Gog so if you like the screenshots buy through their link.

Yes there is. For example:
Start>Gog.com>Duke Nukem 3D>Setup ;)

[edit] Should be the same for Blood.

Hm. In my start menu there is no shortcut to Duke Nukem or Gog.com. And in Blood I was instead able to edit my controls to my personal liking in game, through he options menu.

As for hedward, Eduke said it was free on the site but you did use the term 'buy'. I'm not really interested in buying another operating system for Duke(although it does say it's completely free) if the only real benefit is the ability to edit controls and (mostly) an advanced graphical system. I have no problem with Duke's graphic and hardly noticed a difference between the screen shots. No offence though, I don't have the greatest vision ever.

I WOULD be interested even in paying for any kind of client that allowed you to play Duke Nukem online free with other people in the manor Zdaemon does. I think such a thing is long overdue, although I could see how it would be nearly impossible for anyone to make such a grand and wonderful thing happen, though unless I am to stand corrected, that is not a feature of Eduke.(If it is, I will crap my pants with joy, sorry to TMI you.)
Again thanks for all who have helped me enjoy GOG games. :)

eDuke is completely free. You don't have to pay a single cent for it if you don't want to. It also comes with all the cool bells and whistles, including compatibility with mods.

I believe what hedward meant was that, if you haven't bought Duke 3D (though I believe you have), you can buy through their affiliate link.

Eduke is free, the link on the site brings you here. You have to buy a copy of the game files if you don't already own them, basically if you want Duke you have to own a copy one way or another.

Yep, and I missed your post as I researched mine.

The point was that if you like the screenshots, you can buy through their link and they get a bit of cash. It's the same package you get here, because you're buying it from Mr. Gog.

Assuming you installed in the default location, try looking in the program files folder, should be a GOG folder, in there should be a Duke folder, in there, should be a setup.exe.
No shortcut? Hm.. No matter.
Use setup.exe in the game folder to change key bindings.
eDuke is aweeeessssoooooommmmmmeeeee. You must use it.

I honestly can't play shooters as old as Duke3D anymore with eDuke, GZDoom and similar programs. They make the experience so much better.

I'll have to try GZDoom, I've been using Doomsday.

The latest version of eDuke is pretty ridiculous with that new renderer they've implemented.

How would I use Eduke? What would I have to do to use the files in their engine?

It's pretty easy to do, you just copy the data files over to the appropriate directory. You can just copy the entire Duke Nukem 3D folder found wherever you installed it into the directory where you install eDuke. Kind of hard to be more specific as I'm not sure where those paths will be specifically on your machine.
Thank you all very much. I might consider using Eduke, but probably after beating the game solo with my new control set. That will give the creators of Eduke time to work out the online function I'm so interested in, plus will let me experience the game in the old fashioned way.

Also, before I go online, I would like to polish my Duke skills on Come Get some, lest I suck.
You can configure eDuke to be identical to the old fashioned way.
