Depends on the game, and whether anyone has bothered updating the wiki, but generally, yes.

Well latest versions have fixes to different problems.
If you don't have problems to begin with, I guess it doesn't really matter for you.

Aren't you notified when one of your games is updated? Does the GOG Downloader help keep your installers up to date?

It's 50/50, and the GOG downloader doesn't auto-patch.
