GameRager: Us Americans usually can't even say the actual N word when describing others using the N word.....as it is "offensive" to even say it in a non racist context. Yet minorities can spout it on every other rap album at least 300 times. Go figure. :\
FiatLux: Yeah ! , it's so funny , Americans can call others "Nigger" all they want if they person saying the word is named "Chris Rock" (or well , usually just being "black" will qualify as "guilt free")
Even more funny , then people of "non-caucasian" "origin" have so many swear/curse/condecending words for "caucasians" and uses them all the time and that's usually all fine (acceptable behaviour) in "daily life".
I can't even use a "slang word" about a person of "other origin" than I without being punished".... (Where I live it is so insane that one is punished for racism if using the "wrong words" even in connection with other people of "same race" , we had politician that I think they punished for racism for speaking bad about someone from one of the "Baltic countries" ) (We have an "extremely wide" "racism paragraph" in my country , I think that it is § 266b - not sure , but if they please then they can generally punish you for saying almost anything about someone foreign, all they have to do is just to point to this "rubber paragraph" they have made to facilitate the "handing over of Denmark" to foreigners).
Race relations in the US are a lot more complicated than they are in northern Europe. Much of it dating back over several centuries and involving numerous groups and movements during that time.
Trust me, it's nothing like anything you see in Denmark. It'll have elements of Naziism often times, but it's a lot more complicated and a lot more subtle in most cases. You could literally study it for years and still not really understand what you're dealing with.
GameRager: I never said it was fact, hence the IMO at the end of that one bit.
And i'm not fully fine with people being bigoted, I just think some issues deserve alot more attention than people spouting "bad" words seem to get in this country.
Hypocrite. If you honestly think it's just a few bad words you have absolutely no idea what you're dealing with. You do still have the right to make an idiot of yourself and spout off whatever you like, but it's pretty clear you don't understand the issue.
Ultimately, as long as folks like you give cover and to support to people that are "spouting 'bad' words'" they're not going to change their views. The only effective way of stopping this sort of bigoted behavior is by rooting it out and leaving it nowhere to hide.
Personally, I'd say my response to Radioshack was unreasonably weak. I'm in part responsible for them not having a proper non-discrimination policy up until federal law mandated that they have one.
Ultimately, the people that are responsible for the world being so generally crappy aren't so much the extremists as those that pose as moderates and fail to do anything about the problem.
