Are these the proper RAM specs for a Toshiba Satellite 2450-401 ?

Any other modules with different specs that would also work ?

I like the Crucial tool for finding what will work in boxes and laptops

I will add that once you have found what will work you can use that info to find it elsewhere. Amazon often has the exact Crucial memory cheaper than Crucial's site.

Quick google search brought up This. A couple other sites I checked listed the same RAM (PC-2700 SODIMM 200 Pin 333Mhz), so looks like that's what you want.

Yes, that is correct you can use that one or you can use 512MB 200-pin SODIMM DDR PC2700 333MHz as well. Either of them will work with the Toshiba Satellite 2450-401 from what I researched online.

Yes it should work, this is the right ram type, only some compatibility issues could arise. MAx ram is 1GB which is 2x 512MB

I pretty much always buy from the manufacturers site, the only exceptions are cases where I'm getting a barebones kit. I'm not sure how it works outside the US, but you usually get a better warranty and last time I was buying ram, the price was good enough.

I agree but most of the folks I am helping are concerned about price more than anything else. I try to accommodate them by finding the lowest price and highest quality when ever possible. Even then they sometimes cannot afford the RAM upgrade. =( Prices for RAM locally are ridiculous nowadays as well.

You may have to settle for PC2700 (333 MHz) or PC3200 (400 MHz), because PC2100 (266 MHz) is now scarce. DDR sticks have Serial Presence Detect, which tells the computer what timings to use with the memory, and this allows faster DDR to work in machines designed for the older, slower PC2100.

It's most important to match on it being DDR (regardless of speed) and not DDR2 or DDR3, the required size (512MB, larger is NOT better in this case) and on the package being 200-pin SODIMM.

You will not find anything of the kind new; RAM in this format hasn't been made for years. Deal with reputable dealers in surplus parts.

Good to hear. It's nice to hear that hasn't changed. Crucial is hardly the only brand worth buying, but over the years I've never had a bad stick and they always recommend ones that are compatible.
