It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I've not had this problem before, but in the past few days I have downloaded 3 games from GoG and had the same problem with each. Once installed, which seems to go fine, launching them results in a black screen which I can't get away from without restarting the computer. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

It's probably a permissions thing, but I'd suggest you contact Support.
I had a similar thing happen with some GOG games when in full screen mode on a windows 7 laptop. This ended up being a setting that I manually changed for dosbox (resolution was changed and another item), and I no longer had issues with games. Let me know if you'd like me to send you the information I changed.

What OS are you using? Is UAC (user account control) enabled? That can mess with a lot of things. I usually prefer to shut it off, cause that can mess with a lot of things.

Have you tried any non-GOG.com games recently? I know video card settings can cause that problem too. Best of luck!
I am using Windows 7 as well, so it may be the same issue you had, Braussie. Would be useful to know what you did :)

I do have user account control on, I feel safer with it, but I'll give it a try without and let you know if it changes anything. Thanks for your help!
Maybe make them XP compatible?
Or load them to a none GOG directory.

Like I said, I don't know if this will help... I went to " C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox-0.74 " and I opened the file "dosbox-0.74.conf" by doubleclicking it. It should open up via notepad. I replaced part section after the first set of "#" signs with:

fullscreen=true
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=1366x768
windowresolution=1366x768
output=overlay
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper-0.74.map
usescancodes=true

... I found that the reason the black screen locked up was an issue with dosbox being unable to display fullscreen on my computer. The only way I could exit out of the games was alt-enter, if it would even work. Try changing that file and see if it helps.
