Like the title says;

I dabbled in a few but I'm sure there is something better out there.

I'm primarily interested in PC gaming news but I also have a PS3 and occasionally like some of its games (like Uncharted for example, great game!)
Rock, Paper, Shotgun

PC only. They have some very good writers and when they claim something, they usually back it up with arguments. You can disagree with them sometimes, but you can't deny they are doing their job well.

(The GOG community likes to point out they have a pro-Steam, anti-Ubisoft bias, which they admittedly do, even though it's not quite as strong as people over here tend to make it.)

Kotaku AU

The Australian Kotaku is reasonably good. Mark and Tracey write some pretty good articles... though you will also get all the crap from the US site
Eurogamer

I switched to them for my gaming news seeing as Gamespot and IGN seem intent on pussy footing around and cuddling up with the industry. RPS is a tad better IMO though. Different strokes...

Personally, my favorite is

www.joystiq.com

Even if their Neir review was terrible, it's a great site.
www.bluesnews.com

The maintainer sticks to the news and keeps his gaming opinions to himself.

Thanks guys, I'll give each of these a spin and see what I like.
With those mentioned above, you could also add Gameinformer to the list

And Gamasutra, maybe? May be a little to targeted for game makers, it has a lot of good stuff.

I recommend Rock Paper Shotgun. They are more of a PC gaming blog with news snippets than a dedicated news site, so they can be very opinionated sometimes. They do, however, back up all their claims, and their writing ability/style is, in my opinion, unmatched within the gaming landscape.

For the purposes of context:

They did recently slam Steam. The problem with Steam is that it's nothing new. So it's not news. People know where they are with Steam and have already made their decision regarding it. It's only going to be major changes or occurrences that will get coverage.

Origin and UbiDRM happened after RPS started and as a result have received a lot of (negative) coverage in the meantime, even when they haven't been doing anything that others have been doing for a long while now.
