Tomb Raider, definately.
Buy Tomb Raider and laugh at the people who buy it on Steam at three times the prices ;-P.

Far Cry is an excellent shooter, but there really is no joy if it punishes your hardware.

Another world should NOT be played on a laptop. It shouldn't be played on anything that you can throw.

Like others, I'd say try how smoothly far cry runs on your computer. If it's okay, buy it. All the others should be second choice, chosen only due to circumstances.

Words to live by :))))
So I've been thinking, and even though there's been an overwhelming Tomb Raider response, there's another two games I'm considering..Die by the Sword and ARMA. Should I still stay with Tomb Raider?

EDIT: Considering Sanatarium as well.

actually nevermind, don't know enough about the other 3 you added to recommend anything one way or the other

It's between Die By the Sword and Sanatarium. I have the Tomb Raiders on PS1, I'll just play them on there. Of course, I do have a Shadow Warrior key, if anyone is interested in trading for a Die by The Sword Key, and then I could get Sanatarium..
Stay with Tomb Raider :-)

Are the PC versions that much better to play than the PS1?
Unfortunately I have no console gaming experience whatsoever, so I cannot really comment on that.

EDIT: But at least in Tomb Raider PC version you can save the game anytime anywhere IIRC, so that is a plus point IMHO.

Ahh, well the PS1 games are good but the graphics are awful and Lara can be tough to control with the D-Pad.
