A Universe of possibilities!

Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages, a unique space shooter/RPG mash-up, with tons of creative ideas, brilliant humor, and huge replayability value, is available 33% off on GOG.com. That's only $9.99 for the first week.

The Rings are like a superhighway connecting different corners of the Universe, making it effectively smaller than it has ever been. That makes it instantly more accessible to anyone, and thus--more prone to chaos, mischief, and mayhem. To make things even more interesting, there are these beings called Sages, capable of rewriting the laws of physics, altering the material reality around them, making the known space even stranger and less predictable than usual. This is a story of such a Sage. You.

Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages takes such ideas such as space opera, role-playing, shooter, and exploration of procedurally generated space to a whole new level. Combining many different gameplay modes, mechanics, and set-ups it's giving the players near-infinite possibilities to experience a unique space-adventure, full of action, humor, and cosmic awesomeness. Either in singleplayer or seamless multi-player mode, it creates an ultimate space playground for you to explore and dominate!

Let a whole universe of different gaming possibilities open before you with Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages, for only $9.99 on GOG.com. The launch offer lasts until Tuesday, July 16, at 9:59AM GMT.

Roman5: But why isn't the soundtrack included? What's up with this "Soundtrack sample" nonsense?
IndieGame-Releases on GOG are a huge disappointment most times. No full soundtracks or other extras, no support for Linux and so on.

Buy it directly from the developer.
I see the RPG tag, but I guess it's more a shooter than a RPG. Will maybe take a closer look at it later, seems there's an alpha demo out! :D

...or I'll just watch some vids since the download doesn't work and I'm not registered on indiedb... xD

Cant find the alpha demo that was available. GOG could have sold the game with the soundtrack for extra $4.99

Ah, what the hell. Purchased. I'm a sucker for space-based action anyway.

Crosmando: Wait so this means that GOG has changed from 2 games on Tues/Thurs to 3? Big news.
Looks like there are heaps of good games that can be released DRM free... Oh wait, maybe GOG's idea and approach is working and game developers do not have to use the "monopoly" of Steam?
From the Kickstarter page:
Are there plans for OS X, Linux, Linux, iOS, etc?
Our focus is to release a quality version on Windows platforms, but if the game is successful, we have every intent to make it available to Mac and Linux users. Currently, you can play the game on a Mac if you bootcamp Windows.

As far as playing this game on mobile devices (with iOS or Android), we'll do what we can. The control scheme should translate fairly well to touch screens, but it will require a device with considerable graphical power to run.
So there is a possibility of a Linux port in the future. Looks like yet another game I won't be getting on GOG :(
I couldn't help but notice it says "hilarious" in the description. Does this mean you go up against Winnebagos and shit?

And no this isn't one of my typical smart ass OT post, I've become very curious about this title; none of the descriptions in here seem to even remotely match the screen shots.

Lost-brain: I backed the game on their Kickstarter campaign, so I will not buy the here a secon time,
Try asking the devs for a GOG key. FTL gave GOG keys and it was a kickstarted indie game so it's worth a try.
If one of the screenshots is still accurate then the ingame currency is the same as EVE. I wonder why they chose not to create their own currency.
So, is this an RPG or a Flight Stick style Space Shooter. Might have to dig out and dust off the old flight stick if those controls are available. I'll also have to see if Saitek has any Windows 7 and 8 drivers for it.

Edit: Saitek rocks...they have drivers for both Win7 (x32 and x64) and 8 (x32 and x64) for an 11 year old x45 HOTAS. I think I used this thing on both XP and 2000.

It seems like they have taken the demo down, a shame because it looks decent and I want to try before I buy. The videos are a bit too busy so I want to try it out.

Hopefully they will bring the demo back before the release discount disappears, otherwise, I will wait until the next sale.

Possibly the most interesting new game released in 7 months. Too bad I don't quite clear the msr AND my bank has eaten my monthly pay.
Looks really cool and I definitely wishlisted it, but since no one came out and said it, I will: this game pays a little too much homage to Operation Inner Space. I'm not complaining, it's damn about time someone did a near screen-by-screen copy of the old classic. Teaches Software Dynamics a lesson too, for never having updated their game to today's technical (and pricing) standards.

Where is the demo?
I am the only one around here who think that the ship on the cover looks a lot like Spike's ship in the anime "Cowboy Bebop" ?
