Hadouken!

Street Fighter Alpha 2, one of the most successful 2D fighting games of all times, is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99!

Ryu, from Japan. Chun-Li, from China. Ken, from USA. Birdie, from England. Charlie, from USA. Adon, from Thailand. Rose, from Italy. Guy, from USA. Sagat, from Thailand. Bison, from Brasil. Sodom, from USA. Akuma, from Japan. Dan, from Hong Kong. Zangief, from USSR. Dhalsim, from India. Rolento, from USA. Gen, from China. Sakura, from Japan. Eighteen hardcore fighters, each with his or hers set of moves and fighting techniques, are ready for the incredible showdown, that is the Street Fighter championship.

In Street Fighter Alpha 2, many of the long time favorite characters--like Ryu, Chun-Li, and Zangief-- return to our screens. They're accompanied by a cast of newcomers, who have even more to prove. The game features beautiful, cartoony pixel-art graphics that guarantees a clear view of the fast-paced combat. A system of deadly custom combos has been introduced in place of the closed chain-combos, so you have even more control over your fighting style!

Stretch your fingers, put on your bandanna, and get ready for the ultimate fighting challenge in Street Fighter Alpha 2, for only $5.99!

Foxhack: (Who'm I kidding, that damn thing requires QuickTime...)

bevinator: Why would that be a hurdle? Myst requires QT and it's been here for a long time. The only issues with that are technical ones stemming from needing multiple QT installs if you want to run both Myst and iTunes.
And Windows 3.1. I don't think it'll work on any 64-bit version of Windows. :(

Getting Myst working on my Win7 64bit computer was certainly a challenge, but I managed. I don't even have the GOG version; I installed it off my 15-year-old CD. Honestly it was harder to get iTunes and Myst working than it was getting Win7-64 and Myst working. There's an ocean of Win7/Vista threads in the Myst forum, though, so maybe I was just lucky.
Wow Street Fighter Alpha 2 was a bit of a suprise to see on GoG, I wonder if this means we will be getting the Resident Evil and Dino Crisis PC games at some stage i the future?

Lodium: Oh Btw, does this version support gamepad or gamestick ?
I dont want to break my keyboard or my fingers trying to hit the rigth keys fast.
I just tried it and the game does support gamepads (I used my wired 360 controller). The buttons might need to be reconfigured, but they do work. It's just a shame that, for me, the triggers don't register and the "Start" button is pushing on the left thumbstick.

They changed his name to "Katana" in some other games he was in.

Guess why. :p
ok not too bothered about street fighter alpha 2 on here, i love street fighter but what's the point in this when you could be playing street fighter x tekken (other than nostalgia!)

though now this is here I guess there's a chance we might get the old resident evils on here? They're a pain to get running on modern systems - and would be cool if you could include the uncut resi 1 intro sequence! and maybe fully mod resident evil 4 out the box as the pc port on its own was horrendous but modded it looks nearly as good as 5!

Isn't Street Fighter X Tekken the one where Capcom did something utterly asinine like make half of the characters available only through day-one DLC?
It was a pleasant surprise to see Street Fighter Alpha 2 on the front page of GOG today. I'm a long time fan of the Street Fighter series, and I'm happy to see Capcom join the ranks here.

I picked up this version of the game and played through it once with Guy. This really isn't a very good port of the game, I hate to say. This is a re-release of the 1998 PC version, which was already a port of the 1996 Playstation version. If you find my user review on the game's page, you can see more details about what is wrong with this version when compared to the superior Playstation 2 version of the game released in the Street Fighter Alpha Anthology.

Instant Purchase!

Now Capcom (if you're really here and reading this thread or forum) please release Resident Evil and Devil May Cry series here. Please?

Oh and Megaman as well. : >

Wait, seriously? Street Fighter?

MEGA MAN X SERIES, PLEASE.

If we're going by old games, what about the original series first? They're simple, extremely hard (well, 1 is, anyway) but they're a great look back at the heights of the platform era and they really deserve a PC release. Besides, I always wanted a real MM game on PC instead of the crappy Hi-Tech Expressions ones.
I love the X series too, I just like to start from the beginning.
Looking forward to the few MMX games that had PC ports coming eventually. I think the only Mega Man games (original series) that made it to PC were the unrelated Mega Man and Mega Man 3 that completely sucked. But, you know what, if they come here either free or as a bundle for super cheap, I might just get them. :P

Is X8 any good? I know that had a PC port...

X8 was surprisingly good. X7 was abysmal, but X8 felt like a proper Mega Man X game. The "double attack" special move the game has is probably the worst thing in the game (I recall it was just the background turning black, and your chosen characters appearing and repeating their attack animation again and again), but luckily you only need to use it in the intro stage or something. Been a while, so with any luck that was actually from X7. The soundtrack was okay too. It's a pity I lost my copy somewhere.

I'm pretty sure the PC version had a demo.

/edit: I just remembered the game had a 3d driving stage or two. Those were the worst part about the game.
