It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

If you try to unzip the New Gog Dowloader, all you get is a corrupt file message from both WINZIP and 7 Zip. Looks as if GOG has done it again.......

Use another browser, I think the file won't download properly on IE 9.

He's talking about the second version of the new downloader(772)......which doesn't work for anyone. I tried that version on both Iron(Chrome) and IE already and no go.

The first version which I downloaded and upped to mediafire works fine though.

Well, good thing I never updated mine, I guess.

The downloading thing seems to be getting worse with the new version(.1772). The first new downloader(.1336) won't download on IE8, while the newest version won't download on Chrome on Iron either.

petr_kolar: Is anyone having issues with new gog downloader hanging in the active process list even after exiting?
avatar
hedwards: Which version? I did have a bit of trouble downloading the last bit of Syberia, but after I exited it and restarted it did end up downloading the last little bit. IIRC I did have to log it out and then log in manually though.
I've tried it with the most recent version of gog downloader and the issue is still there. It's not that big deal, because I still can kill the downloader process from task manager.

EDIT: OK, I'm dumb. I haven't noticed the downloader is actually hiding in system tray.

I've had the problem, to quit you have to tell the icon down there to quit, the actual window doesn't seem to be able to kill the process.

I downloaded it on IE 8, and tried again with Firefox. Same result, so it's not a browser issue. And, frankly, even if it was a issue with IE8 or 9, it's a fail on the part of GOG to have a major problem with the most commonly used browser out there.
Hm. Just tried downloading the latest version through gog with Opera - zip file is fine and downloading works too. [Hadn't used any previous version of the new downloader before this one.]
Alright, this does it: http://blogs.adobe.com/open/2011/06/focusing-on-the-next-linux-client.html

RIP, Adobe Air.
So long, piece of shit.
