Aww that sucks... I just became a huge Doctor Who fan a few years ago and he was a great part of the 2nd and 3rd Doctor stories.

I rather hoped he'd do at least a cameo in the new Dr Who series, rather liked his character and the UNIT concept (and hated when they arbitrarily killed them off in that one episode).
He'll be missed. :(

Deeply sadden by this news. Courtney was the longest running actor on Dr. Who, making his first appearance with the 1st Doctor, William Hartnell, (but not as the Brig) and making his last appearance in the Sarah Jane Adventures in 2008(I think this last date is correct).
