takarai: Greetings! Hey excuse me, i downloaded your bat but it seems not to work, doesn't fix the graphic issues on my Road Rash (not sure if i'm the only one). I tried with the 'taskkill¡ bat and that one does work but i don't like killing my explorer.exe every time...
Which OS are you using and which file did you run? It has worked fine for me on two PCs with Windows 7 64 Bit. I have not tested the batch file on Windows 8 yet but the most essential part is the registry fix which reportedly works fine on Windows 8. So if you're using Windows 8 just run the CMD file once (it should apply the color fix) and try running the game directly from the disc (via RASHME.EXE or ROADRASH.EXE). If the colors aren't fixed make sure you're running the CMD file as an administrator (assuming that this hasn't changed on Windows 8 - honestly, I have no idea how things work on Windows 8, haven't used it yet <.<). Also: do you have the game's CD in your drive? The batch file won't work without it. Also: have you extracted all contents of the archive to a directory on your HDD? It's necessary that they are all unpacked and in the same folder.
takarai: Also, is there any way for the batches not to close Java based applications? (both yours and the taskkiller do)
I don't see why my batch file would do that. All it does is making slight changes to the registry, setting the game's compatibility setting and running the game. I don't think any of those things should kill Java based applications. Well, anyway, I'm gonna create a new version of the file soon (which will just install the game from the disc and make it playable without the disc, probably - without using a crack).
