I used to play this rpg back in the early 90s, but I cant remember the name. There are a few unique details I remember. You were able to customize armor. If you took it to a blacksmith, he was able to change the size, for example if you were a dwarf and needed the hauberk shortened.

You could also customize spells. For example, you learn a spell you can use to relieve fatigue. You were able to take it to someone and pay to change it in different ways. You could make it much stronger, or you could make the spell last longer, etc. But the stronger the spell, the harder it was to cast as well.

This was an RPG in which you played with a group, not a single character. I remember you were able to move around on the overland map as well as the city or dungeon areas.

Does anyone remember the name of this game? I am dying to try it again but I havent been able to find it at all. Thanks.

There a few games that come to mind, but like you I cannot remember the name of the game. This might be it, I originally played it on my old dead Commodore 64.

omg i think this is it.. I do remember they used fatigue extensively like it says. wow .. I'll find some screenshots and then I will know for sure. I'll let you know.

Ok I just check it out. It sounds like the right game although I remember it looking different. However I played it on the Apple IIe I believe, and the pics I saw may have been from the pc.. or the other way around.. I'll try it out.. Thanks for the help!

You can look at the screenshots for the game on MobyGames. There are shots from both the Apple II, C64 and DOS versions.

It was a long shot, but I'm glad I helped you out. This game was way ahead of it's time, but it ran like frozen syrup on my C-64. I also remember that it had a zillion floppies, that naturally needed to be copied. Ahh, the good/bad old days lol.

This seems like the game. The only problem is that i seem to remember that the thumbnails of the characters while on the overworld map were in a vertical row, not horizontal. I also seem to remember the graphics being slightly better, although obviously still indicative of the time. Of course, it was so long ago that I could easily be confusing the graphics of a different game with the workings of that game :)
I hope it's some of those Phantasy stars which have castlevania theme. =)
