Is the first encounter here the same spruced up one being sold with editor over at D2D right now for $5?

If so, I'll just wait 'till later and get it here.
Sorry, I can't find a 5$ version on D2D. Probably some region lock thing on the website.

However, Serious Sam here on GOG is the standard good ol' Serious Sam. No HD-marketing stuff, but the game still looks pretty decent if you pump up the resolution. I'm pretty sure the editor is included, but I can't check right now. Maybe you should post on the serious sam subforum and someone else will probably check.

The initial GOG price point of 10$ was a bit too much. The new pricing of 6$ is much better. I would still prefer to have a bundle first+second encounters for 10$, since the games are fairly short, but it's still well worth the money.

I got both the serious sam games during the christmas sale for only 3 dollars each, so that's 6 bucks for both of the games!

Talk about Serious Value for money

(no pun intended)
The editor was part of the original 90's game but I think it might've been included on a second disk. Can't quite remember but do remember playing around with the level editor.

D2D has the offer WorldWide on their US site but they might've taken it down.

Same here, that was a nice price. Which reminds me : I still have to play through The Second Encounter. In LAN coop, of course : that's how it's fun !
Yeah, I saw that deal earlier today. I already got both games on sale during the holidays, and even nabbed up the HD Gold pack (with the original and HD versions of both games) for $5 on Steam.

It's $1 more to get it from GOG. It should go without saying that GOG generally has the better deals. You can wait for it to go on sale here, but if you're interested in saving $1 on D2D, you may as well just get it here right now at normal price.

For $1 more, you support GOG and get the soundtrack. I'd say it's worth that, the D2D sale isn't much of a deal. I'd hold out for a better sale than that, or you might end up buying the games from D2D, GOG, and Steam if you're not careful! :D
Sam "Serious" Stone says: "Buy on GOG!"
I just checked. If by editor you mean "Serious Modeller" then yes, it's included in GOG's version of Serious Sam.
