Is this Complete Edition with all the expansions? If not, i would rather get it from GOG.

Not at this time. Like in case of DN3D on Steam they first added DOSBox basic game, later added port and addons.

Twin Dragon and Wanton Destruction are free, Gog only spares you the effort of finding them.

Does the free Shadow Warrior include two expansions and the soundtrack? I'm guessing not but haven't checked it out yet. Also, GOG offers it DRM-free, which for some is crucial.

This particular release I think is simply to get attention for the upcoming remake by the Hard Reset guys. Although not always, it's something of a trend that when Steam picks up an old classic there's something else going on to highlight that particular game. So far, I don't seem Steam going all out to cover classic gaming to the extent that GOG does and even if they did down the road, GOG distinguishes itself very importantly to some gamers by being DRM-free and often including nice extras.

I could see Steam cherry picking certain high profile old classics over time but I don't see them providing the kind of depth in their classics line up that GOG already has and continues to expand upon regularly.

The expansions are free anyway, Steam version comes with soundtrack in .ogg format, DRM is non-existent since the game runs via DOSBox.

Just checked, you can install WD and TD over the Steam release and they work fine.

Well, I guess maybe GOG needs to move this one into the freebies group now then. Might as well do some promotion of their own with it, assuming the publisher is fine with that which it would seem they ought to be at this point.

Will certainly make those of us who were stupid enough to pay for it think twice about buying anything from Devolver so hastily again though.

Now it's free to play forever. I guess somebody on GOG camp won't be to pleased with this? In the end they all are business partner, not personal buddies.

Well, I don't think we were stupid to buy it. Who could have known the future, you know? Stuff happens. I do think in light of the GOG release of the game that it is not very cool of the publisher to give it away as a promo and on a permanent basis now, so soon thereafter. Of course, if they'd like to issue all of us refunds that would work... in my dreams. lol

I'm not upset, I've bought the games 4 times (physical copy from the store, physical copy direct from 3D Realms, digital copy direct from 3D Realms, and GOG copy), and I'll still buy the Shadow Warrior Classic+ when it comes to Steam.
