bearcat22: Stumbled across a Red Storm game called "Shadow Watch....
tritone: I love Shadow Watch! It is a brutally difficult game at times. The interface is not very good... it is very difficult to tell which way your character is facing at times, you will often take shots from an enemy that is impossible to see, and you will waste actions because you *thought* your character was facing the right direction but s/he wasn't, etc.
Some suggestions... take a look at this game guide at GameSpot...

Secondly, know that SW is one of the few commercial store-bought games from a "big company" that actually runs on Java. It comes with it's own JRE (Java Runtime Environment version 1.1.8) that is found in the /jre/bin and /jre/lib folder. It's possible that if you have your own Java installed on the machine there might be a conflict. I've also heard people have some success replacing the JRE in these folders with a different (later) version (you might try JRE 1.4.2 from the Sun java archives). Search around and you'll find some threads on this.
I don't believe there was ever an official patch for SW, none that I've found anyway. Good luck!
Thank you. I do love the concept and look of this game, but not enough to learn how to fix it and put up with a poor interface, which I had already noticed. I appreciate the assist.
