Yes, I understand that there's already a thread on Double Fine]a thread on Double Fine here.

The reason for a separate thread is this specific question:
Should DF's new adventure game be released thru GOG?
Would Tim Schafer & GOG consider it?
Only if GOG makes a deal with them. From what I heard the game is going to have distribution through Steam, so it's unlikely since the minimum donation amount for a free copy was $15, and GOG only has one game over $10.

It's far from Steam exclusive, and I'm fairly certain GOG mentioned new price points when they said they'd be releasing some newer games.
I imagine that GOG would be open to the idea of making it a special case, like Witcher 2, but would probably want to wait until it's nearly done before committing so that they can judge the quality.

It's pretty much established that they will make a DRM-free release and I'd love it to be distributed through GOG. If Wolfire pick it up instead that would also be good, as would Desura as long as it doesn't require authentication for backup/restore.

Desura have started offering downloadable installers/zips in addition to the client download. It's not available for all games yet and I don't know if they plan to add the remaining games or not, but it looks like this for games that do have direct downloads.

Two months in though and we don't have a sign of a single one, or a hint of another one. I figured that anything new would probably fall around $30, and still just be games released within the past 5-10 years. But obviously, nobody knows what they've got their eye on. And the specific mention of Steam distribution either means that they were the first and only to go into talks or that they specifically chose Steam to distribute through.

I just meant that the announcement of newer games means they're open to other price points.

Also, from the Kickstarter page:
The finished game in all of its awesome glory DRM free on PC, Mac, and Linux, or via Steam for PC and Mac, exclusive access to the Beta on Steam, access to the video series, and access the private discussion community.
Yes, it's confirmed to be on Steam but to be honest, there are so many Steam fanboys now that they had to do this. :P

After all, the only way to get on Steam is to get on Steam (if you see what I mean). A DRM-free game can be distributed however you want, so it's not so important for them to confirm where or how it'll be distributed.

That's great news. They keep getting better and better.

I asked for elaboration here but I haven't had an answer yet.
