Just saw it on Twitter. I've been waiting to try this out for a while. Will probably pick it up in the near future.

"endless mode*. Im wondering how many hours someone is likely to get out of this. my interest is piqued

No idea. I'm definitely interested. It's made by the Kingdom of Loathing guys and is a single-player game so it doesn't revolve around a lot of waiting (the one time I played KoL, I just couldn't stand the waiting times between quests)...and the combat system. Really hoping it has some weight to it.

Looks a lot like spellirium

At first look, it looks that way but there are a few differences, including...

- This seems to have more in common with Scrabble than Bookworm.
- This appears to be a full-fledged RPG whereas Spellirium is a traditional adventure game with a Bookworm-esque combat system.

Never heard of WordRealms, but this made me interested. I used to love KoL.

Definitely piques my interest as I loved the Bookworm Adventures games.

I went to the website and there wasn't a whole lot of documentation but from the screenshots, its hard to tell the difference between scrabble and bookworm, which are both about word length and letter bonuses. not a bad thing, i liked bookworm adventures, and this one has more rpg layers on top of it. both spellirium and wordrealms are also word contextual.

Namely, Scrabble requires you to put words together out of a random set of letter tiles, whereas Bookworm requires you to find words in a board of letter tiles.

If I can manage to afford it soon, I'll leave some clarifications and impressions, too.

I remember a game a little like this when I was much younger, where you played as a knight trying to save a kingdom using your ability to spell and do basic math to solve problems and progress.

By the look of the images I have just looked at, the idea is nice, and could be good for teaching small children how to spell and read.

Okay, I just bought this. It's interesting. There's no real adventuring, instead there are different places you can visit and random events happen when you visit them or, in the case of a town, you get several different places you can interact with. The dialogue has a sense of silliness to it and in-fight dialogue using the word you chose ranges from not making sense to hilarious. There are quests too.

Also, there are "builds" of sorts. It doesn't seem you can upgrade skills, instead your stats get upgrades at different milestones, but you can only have a certain number of active and passive skills equipped at a time.

Oh, and the character customization is pretty good. I was impressed with the amount of options.
