What are some of the better games to look for, DS or 3DS? I'm not usually much into mobile gaming, so I don't really know what's out there.

I have A Link Between Worlds, which is the first Zelda game I've played since OoT disappointed me many moons ago. I like it, but not to the level of the first few Zelda games. Perhaps the magic is just gone for me.

I've been playing a lot of Bravely Default, loving it immensely. I can't think of anything I don't like about it. It is exactly what I want and expect from a traditional JRPG.

And I have the Mega Man Zero collection, ZX, and ZX Advent. I haven't played them much yet, but they are pretty much what I bought the system for. Mega Man is my favorite platformer-type series, I'm not too big on Mario for example.

As for what's on my radar, there isn't much. Atelier Annie I'm going to pick up because I love the main series. Radiant Historia I've heard is supposed to be really good. Other than that I don't really know.

Granted this is a PC gaming forum, but surely some of you have a 3DS :D. So, thoughts?

Also, thanks for any responses!
Don't know about 3DS as I only have a DS lite, but the first resident evil on DS is really good.
there is pokemon. Its well pokemon. if you joyed one, you might enjoy them all. If you liked Luigi's mansion or adventure games. Dark moon on the 3ds is a nice enjoyable if a bit short adventure game. with a number of hidden little secrets and gems to find. if you like tactical rpgs, fire emblem awakening is a must have.

Shin megami tensei 4 i am finding rather enjoyable. Collectioning demons and fusioning them together is a bit like a mini game in its own right. Also talking demons into joining you is also part of the fun and this game is old school hard. it can and will kick your sorry ass.
I believe the Guild games just went on sale today for $2.99. At the very least get Crimson Shroud.
If you are a fan of the Aliens movie, check this game out.

Aliens Infestation.

Fire emblem and of course the remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Never played any of the Pokemon but they are bestseller.....
If the Virtual Console was worth anything, I'd suggest that.
I know dozens of great DS/3DS games, but I'll keep this somewhat brief.

You seem to like RPGs, so I might recommend The World Ends With You, Dragon Quest IX, and any of the Pokémon games.

For platformers, you might want to try Cave Story or Shantae

If you like adventure games, definitely check out Phoenix Wright, Professor Layton, Ghost Trick, Hotel Dusk, and 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors.

Some great puzzle games are Planet Puzzle League, Picross DS, and Pushmo.
I watched a little over 30 minutes of that Aliens Infestation LP, doesn't look that interesting to me. I do like Alien, and I like Metroidvania type games, but that one had very little going on in the part I watched. I like a bit more combat to go with the exploration.

Pokemon I may look into. I enjoyed the first 2 generations, but stopped there because the franchise wasn't evolving past "travel the world to beat the masters and that's it." Really needs side quests, richer dialogue, and a more involved story. Not necessarily a more original story - look at the million fantasy RPGs. Just something... meatier I guess.

SMT is a series I always meant to try. Matter of fact I think I have a couple of the PS2 installments sitting around waiting to be played. Wishlisting.

And a number of pezhead53's suggestions look interesting as well. I'll look into those (and some others from the thread).

For now I've ordered Radiant Historia and Atelier Annie like I wanted, plus I discovered that Rhapsody got a DS port. I always wanted to play that game.

I was waiting for you to say something along the lines of 'Bravely Default for my undead minions!!'
Rhapsody DS got trashed pretty badly when it came out.

It completely changes the gameplay to make it more in line with its sequels Little Princess/Angel Present (which I think were supposed to be more of a typical rpg instead of a srpg). Not that it was originally some masterpiece or something but the new gameplay isn't particularly deep or anything either. And it only has the songs subbed - no options for the Atlus dub songs because licensing. Furthermore the US version excised the bonus features upon beating the game. There were originally 3 bonus chapters with the characters/plot of the two sequels, and they were cut due to licensing or just plain laziness in not wanting to translate them or god knows what reason. And the US ads mentioned them since they were a 1 to 1 translation of the Japanese ads. So there was a ton of confusion/rage back when the game came out.

NIS' ds efforts aren't really all that worthwhile.
Advance Wars Dual Strike for the DS would keep you busy, though it's been a while since I played it, so I don't know if you'd find it a little too simplistic. It's quite a lot like Fire Emblem, if anyone recommends that.
Rune Factory 4! This series took Harvest Moon and improved upon it in just about every way imaginable.

Heard about it here and there. have yet to buy it and shin megami tensei 4 is all ready keeping me busy by performing demon fusion and turning two or more things into another one of the living dead. Muahahah. Fight for me my minions fight and kill my foes!

I'm happier with subs over dubs myself, but the rest of it is disheartening to hear. I'll still play it and make my own judgement, but this isn't a good sign.
