What's to stop their back catalog showing up here? Classics like the Marathon series, Oni, the Myth games, Pathways into Darkness, deserve more than to be forgotten to the hoary mists of legend. Granted, there is the Aleph One modern OS wrapper for the Marathon games, and I still have the Oni disc, but they really need the special preservation that only GOG can deliver. Petition!
You can tweet them for what it's worth.

Actually the freely available Marathon games are awesome as they are, even supporting widescreen resolution and looking good for their age. At least on Mac they do. As for Pathways into Darkness, if you have a Mac that is available for free on the Mac App Store in all its classic glory. There is a source port to run Myth II on modern Macs but you need to find an original disk to get the data files. I had no trouble getting one on Amazon.com for cheap. There is a demo version as well with I think the first two levels to check it out, just google for it. I forget if that one supports Windows also as well. I'm thinking that it does.
Here's a link to the Marathon trilogy download, in case folks are too lazy to google it. Download them, play them, vote for them on the wishlist.

Come to think of it, those count as my favourite first-person shooters of all time, and there is zero nostalgia involved. I would happily pay for those, given the chance.
Looks to me that Oni and the first two Myth games are in legal hell. Oni should be at Take Two, the first Myth game at Eidos, the second Myth game seems split between a couple of publishers ( Bungie included ). The third Myth game was not developed by Bungie, but by Mumbo Jumbo ( i know, so weird... ) and the rights should be at Take Two. At least that's the theory.

The older games were self-published by Bungie, so the IP's should be at them.

Thanks for the link time to stop Durandal again.

Myth is also something I need to find again, Myth 2 Soulblighter was just amazing strategic fun (Dwarven Mortars!).

I do think all these series would find a good home in GOG so heres hoping.

I would petition that Oni gets a proper save game anytime anywhere system first before showing up here :-)

At first I was going to ask what you meant by Myth being with EIDOS (I have the Canadian Mac/PC release of Myth: TFL and it was published by Bungie), until I wiki'd it and saw that the EU publishing rights were indeed with EIDOS (so they'd be with Square Enix?). GT Interactive had the EU publishing rights for Myth II, so would GOG have to talk to Atari?

As for Myth III: The Wind Age, it's apparently still a sore spot for many Myth fans, with some either dismissing it as non-canon, or pretending it doesn't exist. I didn't mind it myself, but it sure as hell didn't match up to the bar set by the first two games.

Amen to that. I loved Oni, but its checkpoint system was ridiculous even at the best of times.
